1 WBF 2011 presented by Kryolan General Information EN Since 1998, the world s most colourful event has taken place every year in Austria. The World Bodypainting Festival is the biggest art event in the bodypainting theme and ten thousands of visitors admire the wonderful work of the participants. Aritsts from 40 nations worldwide come to this unique event and put body art into the mountain and lake scenery. Pörtschach at the lake Wörthersee near the state capital Klagenfurt is the new location for the next years. The festival week is held from 27th June - 3rd July The new "Bodypaint City" offers easier travel access plus great socializing possibilities and inspiration. The town Pörtschach, the most impressive location in the state surrounded by turquoise water, is the perfect backdrop for the art form. The very compact town locates all programs within just a few hundred meters. Many workshops are supported by our partners like Kryolan, Fantasy Worldwide, Brennig, Mehron, Diamond FX, BodyFX, Vargas, Charles Fox or Nikon and Adobe to mention a few. The WBF academy offers an extensive program for beginners, intermediate and advanced. Group arrangements for schools can be organized on request. We offer workshops in the areas of bodypainting, airbrush bodypainting, facepainting, special effects, body deco, beauty and fashion make-up, HD-Make up, colour theory, uv effects as well as photography and digital artwork.

3 Meeting places and party locations - World Bodypainting Festival Pörtschach is the hot spot in the state carinthia thoughout the summer. Many cafés, bars, lounges and entertainment facilities are just within a few meters. The official "WBF sound.institute" is placed in the brand new build "Lake's" directly on the promenade or just next to it at the stylish bar Jilly Beach. The party spot on the festival Wednesday, 29th June, is of course the body.circus, our surreal ballroom. The new location for the shrill ball is a legendary place, the old factory "Fabrik", just a few minutes outside of the town. The Thursday evening, June 30 th, is the portfolio night for artists and the meeting place for all interested visitors, photographers and models. This time we will have a boat cruise on the beautiful lake Wörthersee. At the preglow after the boat cruise we present the winners of the last years World Bodypainting PHOTO Awards. body.circus, the surreal ballroom in the old factory "Fabrik", 29 th June presented by Snazaroo with Joe T. Vannelli & Supalova The surreal ballroom body.circus is the main attraction in the festival week side events. The old factory in the village Saag, just a few minutes away from Bodypaint City, will be turned into a magical and mystical surrounding. Line-up: Joe T. Vannelli & Supalova, Ruuk, Lords of House, The venue is open for just very few occations throughout the year. The visitors show up in fantasy costumes combined with bodypainting, decoration and masks up to extreme make up and fantasy fashion. International DJs, ForceFM London, live music, visuals, circus artists, costume prizes, percussion, shows and entertainment are provided for visitors till the early morning hours pm: Styling Jam Session in the congress hall in Pörtschach. Get ready for BodyCircus with other people in the styling jam. - from 8.30 pm: the free bus shuttles will bring you to the venue "Fabrik"..

4 The festival main days in Bodypaint-City 1st 3rd July 2011 The main days of the festival are from Friday to Sunday, 1 st - 3 rd July, daily from am in Bodypaint City. The artists start painting in the public park and later in the day the artwork is judged by a professional jury. The models are then presented to the audience on the main stage. During the day, lots of music and show acts are presented. There are music concerts on program till late. Themes 2011: Friday and Saturday: Renaissance Rebirth Sunday, final day: Haute Couture the world of high fashion The new Bodypaint City streches from the town center via the promanade to the peninsula. The artists are working on the shore of the beautiful lake Wörthersee. Bodypaint City is seperated in 4 zones filled with: - Main and side stages - Artist pavilions - Fashion park - Photo award areas - Exhibitors and market - Catering - Akakiko VIP Lounge with Asian Cuisine - Art exhibitions

5 The World Bodypainting Awards, the world championships for body painting artists sponsored by Kryolan At the world championships during the main days, artists from 40 nations worldwide compete. The World Awards are given in the categories: Brush/Sponge Airbrush and Special effects, as well as one World Fluoro Award, the night contest for UV effects Facepainting Additionally, there will be the Amateur Award contest in the category Brush/Sponge (Photo Gerhard Grasinger, Artist: John Vargas) World Fluoro Award Beside the main categories during the day, the night contest World Fluoro Award will be presented. Fluoroscent colours are used on the models and they are lit with backlights to glow on the stage when presented to the audience. Spectacular effects are guaranteed. There are 15 selected artists who will tell a story of colours, dance and music. For participants with special effects ambitions, we have a special category: the Special Effects Make Up Award.

6 "WBF sound.institute" - music & show highlights Music Bands The highlights of the festival are of course the show presentations of the artists work. Before and after these presentations, we present a full day program from morning till after midnight. International music groups, top DJ s, a whole show program around the bodypainting art form are presented. DJ Mosey aka Pierre Sarkozy, Patrick Nuo, Grossstadtgeflüster, Stamping Feet, Shanta Noir, The Dance Music Stage, a WBF Electronic Art Project The last year s Electronic Dance Music Hall will continue in 2011 as the special Dance Music Stage. The Dance Music Stage is going to be the center of the electronic music community. DJ's will perform, visitors can dance, newcomers can learn. A huge program including ForceFM DJ contest, workshops, radio "Bodypaint City", open decks and much more will attract visitors and artists to combine the creative energy of both - music and bodyart. Music workshops and DJ tricks Many musicians and DJ's meet up at the festival and offer the public possibilities to learn from them. The active program for visitors is held in various locations in Bodypaint City. Learn how to didgeridoo, moderate and the tricks of our DJ's.

7 The WBF fashion.department - World Bodypainting Festival Fashion, Styling, Shows all parts of the WBF fashion.department. New: WBF fashion.park - the boutique of young creative designers The cross over to styling and fashion is very close in the middle of an event that uses the body as an art object. One of the zones in Bodypaint City will host the "WBF fashion.park". It is an attempt to offer a presentation possibility for newcomers such as established fashion desigerns to show their collections in the middle of one of the most popular Austrian summer destinations. Urban style and glamour, street wear, extraordinary or simply new is ready to be sold. Details are available under the section "WBF fashion.department". (Designer Lisa Pek) New: WBF couture.award - the fashion contest for young designers The WBF couture.award is a new highlight represented at the World Bodypainting Festival. Young fashion designers get the opportunity to take part in the contest for the WBF couture.award. The guidelines for participation were carefully elaborated and stand for highly-qualitative requirements placed on the designers. The WBF couture.award represents a high level of professionalism and supports the young designers in their carreers. (Designer Birgit Mörtl) MAC Cosmetics Styling Zone in Bodypaint City Bodypaint City will have a MAC Cosmetics styling zone ready for festival visitors looking for a fresh styling by MAC make-up artists. 8 The World Bodypainting PHOTO Award - World Bodypainting Festival Bodypainting is art and before this kind of art disappears it should get captured for the future. There are 250 limited photo tickets. For the participants of the photo contest we provide a special restricted area with different photo sets. The most fantastic creations are born here and sent to the photo contest. All photographers, models and artists receive a free photo catalogue after the photo contest. The World Bodypainting Photo Award will be given in the categories Photo Classic and Digital Art. On the festival main days, there will be an Adobe Photoshop demonstration. Adobe developer Christoph Kaltseis will show you the latest tricks on Photoshop, with a daily program from am to (Photo Susanne Esser) The days before the main days are very interesting for photographers as well. The WBF-Academy offers photo workshops, classes for digital artwork and everything around the body and body art. The trade show area and the market In the trade show area, most of the biggest brands in the bodypainting industry as well as airbrush, special effects and bodypainting accessories show and sell their product range. Here you can find the latest product lines to test and of course to buy. The market offers products such as jewellery, hand craft and more. "Bodypaint City TV supported by Red Bull Media House Our festival TV crew presents the bodypainting presentations from different perspectives and includes show acts, live music, interesting interviews and visuals. Festival TV is broadcasted on the festival grounds via the big video wall, TV screens and a signal via our website as a video streaming can be viewed by people who can not attend the festival. Last year we got support by Red Bull so that we were able to produce great reports in high definition including 3D movies. Many innovations will come in 2011 as well!
