FACTS ABOUT BRYAN COLLEGE Welcome to Bryan College Bryan s 100-acre wooded hilltop campus overlooks the Richland embayment of the TVA Lake Chickamauga and the town of Dayton in the western edge of the valley made world famous by the federal program of flood control, electrical power, and recreational facilities known as the Tennessee Valley Authority. Dayton is the county seat of historic Rhea County, named for John Rhea, a Revolutionary patriot and early Congressman from Upper East Tennessee. Total Cost of camp is $310 per person Here is WHAT IS DUE WHEN: February 1st $40 deposit, non-refundable deposit, on each person from your church going to camp. Anyone added after March 1st will pay an additional $20 (total of $330) April 20th T-shirt order due May 5th Final payment due to New Camp Ministries for everyone registered at this point. Registration after this point will cost you an extra $10 bringing your total cost to $340 per person. If you get your reservations in early, and stick with the pay schedule you will save $30 per person. T-shirt cost included in total cost of camp. Dorms will be inspected daily. Rooms are expected to be kept in decent order: bed made, clothes picked up,

everything in order. Inspections will be done every morning and awards will be given for rooms who meet normal standards! Bribes are accepted by the checkers. Sleeping Arrangements All sleeping arrangements will be dorm-type accommodations. The rooms will sleep 2 people. Baths are suite baths or on the hallway. The college is responsible for assigning the rooms. Due to the nature of this camp we need adult chaperones on the dorm floors with the youth from your church as part of the supervision. Please do not ask for chaperone couples to room together unless it is an extreme situation. There will NOT be any mixed visiting in the dorms AT ANY TIME!! Afternoon Recreation Schedule Sunday, Monday & Tuesday Organized Recreation Led By Dan Doughty Wednesday Free Time in afternoon only Thursday White Water Rafting (more details to follow soon) KEY FEE There will be a key issued to each camper upon arrival at Bryan College. At the end of the week the key should be turned in or $25 in cash or check made out to Bryan College. This key is the responsibility of each individual. Individual Church Times 9:00 a.m. & 8:30 p.m.

Individual Church Time will be provided in the morning prior to Quiet Time for each church to make announcements and stay in contact with their group. Each evening after the worship service, we have scheduled time for each individual church group to meet to discuss and apply the teachings. These times are some of the most productive meetings in our whole camp. T-Shirts T-shirts with unchristian monograms (tobacco, alcohol, rock groups, etc.) will not be allowed. Adult sponsors may ask youth to change clothes if they feel clothing apparel is inappropriate. WHAT NOT TO BRING Tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, non-prescription drugs, knives, fireworks, bad attitudes, walkmans, electronic games, personal computers, radios, tape players, CD players or CELL PHONES unless you are an ADULT CHAPERONE! Spirit Award - At the end of the week, a Spirit Award will be given to one church. This award will be based upon cooperation throughout the week in sports, team spirit, worship services, dorm cleanliness, lights off, quietness at night and rules in general. This is the most coveted award of all! Our goal is not to compete but unify through cooperation Standards of Dress Attire - New Camp 2014 is a Christian camp. Even with

constantly changing trends in fashion, we can dress like Christians and be both fashionable and respectable, if the New Testament principle of modesty in dress is observed. 1 Timothy 1:9 says: Women adorn themselves in modest apparel. This principle applies to both sexes. The following are some standards. For the morning schedule, both guys and girls may wear shorts as long as they are modest and decent, including the length. TANK TOPS WILL NOT BE PERMISSIBLE DURING THE MORNING ACTIVITIES OR AT RECREATION. WORSHIP DRESS For the evening schedule, we ask that your youth dress up. Our goal is to help maintain an attitude of respect and worship for the evening worship service. Dressing up greatly adds to the excitement and anticipation as we all get ready for our evening worship, which hopefully is the highlight of each day. We ask that girls wear dresses, skirts, or nice dress slacks. Nice blue jeans will be permissible. For the guys, we also ask that they dress up keeping in mind nice jeans are accepted. Shorts are NOT to be worn to the Evening Worship Service. Swim Suits - Because of the trends in bathing suits we feel that it is necessary to require that girls wear only one piece swim suits. The rule at Bryan College is there can be no t-shirts in the pool, however, when not in the pool all girls & guys are required to wear a t-shirt over the swim suit. We also ask the guys NOT to wear the small bikini type suits. Since we are in recreation several afternoons this does not leave much time for sunbathing. We do not want to give Satan any kind of foothold in the lives of our youth and adults. Quiet Times - 9:00 a.m. Quiet Time Pages will be in the Student Notebook. Each morning at 9 a.m. we will meet in the Chapel for a brief introduction into the Quiet Time. After the introduction you are encouraged to take your group back to your Individual Church meeting area for announcements and the Quiet Time. Our goal in providing a structured Quiet Time is to help those who are presently not involved in a Quiet Time daily to get in the habit.

Worship 9:45 a.m. & 6:30 p.m. A guaranteed highlight of New Camp 2014 will be the exciting worship. Each morning uplifting music which sets the tone for student relevant exposition by Wayne Barber. Your youth will be challenged to consider God s will on their lives and to evaluate their relationship with Him. We are so grateful to God for allowing these choice servants to lead us in worship at this year s camp. Some of your youth may want to have a part in worship by singing solos or in an ensemble, by drama, or sharing a testimony or word of prayer. There will be further information regarding this in the coming months. In any event, we pray God will use the worship times to accomplish His work in the lives of the youth! ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY FOR ALL ACTIVITIES! Everyone, including students, nonprofessional bus drivers, ministers, etc., are expected to attend all Bible Studies and Worship Services. NO ONE will be allowed to sleep late or skip these special times unless he or she is admitted to the First Aid Station. Please, no exceptions! Huddle Groups 11:00 a.m. The Bible study at New Camp plants seeds in the lives of the youth. Our Bible Study times are called Huddle Groups and will be led by responsible youth leaders. Huddle Groups are designed to give the young person peer discussions concerning life application in small group settings. These groups allow the youth the freedom to express their thoughts and ideas and ask questions without being intimidated by a large group. Our goal is to help youth Recreation become grounded in the basis of Bible truth!

Just as it has been in past years at Camp Lookout, recreation will play a major part of the program at NEW CAMP Worship and Bible Study will be complemented by a recreational program coordinated by Dan Doughty. Dan combines his love and concern for young people with his experiences as a teacher and a coach to create a unique recreation time for everyone. His program promotes the individual s self-concept as well as his/her ability to relate to other youth in a group situation. The recreation concept is designed to allow all youth (including the non-athlete) to participate with some degree of success. While the spirit of competition will be a part, there will be no losers in our recreation! You compete exclusively as a team against a specific goal or initiative. At the end of the week, groups will be recognized for their cooperation. Everyone must participate, including adult chaperones, actively or as a cheering and encouragement team! Security will be on duty 24 hours a day to aid campers and to enforce rules. CAMPUS CLEAR At 10:30 p.m. each night, the campus will be patrolled. Any camper found outside their room will be penalized. We believe the teaching of the Word of God is the most important event of the week. If you stay up all night, it is almost impossible to benefit from the next day s Bible teaching. Camp T-Shirts Camp T-Shirts: A camp T-shirt will be provided for each camper.

The cost of the t-shirt will be included in the total camp cost. Please get with your youth and decide how many shirts you will need and what sizes you will need. April 5th is the deadline for these t-shirt orders. Transportation & Insurance Each church will be responsible for its own transportation and insurance. Please check with your insurance company to be sure that all activities are covered under your church policy. Please provide proof of insurance (a copy of your church Certificate of Insurance) for our files along with your final payment which will be due May 17th. NOTE: Bryan College cannot be held liable for damages or thefts to vehicles parked on the premises. General Information Youth Ministers will be consulted before a camper is sent home, but please understand that abuse of and ignoring the rules and guidelines will not be tolerated. There have been young people sent home because they refuse to believe us! There are some things that require immediate dismissal and some where warnings will be given. I ll explain these at the beginning of camp. If Youth Ministers have any questions or problems in this area, please call me before camp. BED LINENS & TOWELS Bed Linens and pillows will be provided but you will need to bring your own towels and toiletries. SNACK AREA The snack area will be open following the Evening Worship Services. Items are sold there like Check-In Procedures French fries, hamburgers, pizza, ice cream, etc.

Registration begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21st. Your bus will pull into the parking lot, please have one person designated to come into the cafeteria to receive further instructions for your group. We will have someone located in the parking lot to direct your driver to the appropriate area to unload and park. Health Cards, Medication & First Aid NEW CAMP 2014 will have a first aid coordinator on staff. Because of stringent rules and government laws, we must be careful administering first aid to campers. Each church will keep its own health cards and release forms in its own possession. Please assign an adult from your group to be responsible for administering medication if needed. The first aid coordinator will be available for advice. If the first aid clinic down-town or the hospital is needed, the Youth pastor or designated person in charge will be the only one who may sign for the injured youth. Because doctors will no longer treat someone without a release form signed by the guardian or parent, it is very important that each camper has one. Law suits are being filed against churches at an alarming rate! Be sure you have insurance coverage. A sample release form is enclosed. CAMP NURSE RESPONSIBILITIES There will be a nurse on campus at all times. Her responsibilities are only in an advisory capacity. Please bring the basic medical supplies for your group such as Tylenol/Advil, Pepto Bismol, Band-Aids, sunscreen, aloe lotion, etc. It is NOT practical for every camper to see the nurse for these basic items. There is an emergency clinic within minutes of the college for any major medical needs. Saturday Schedule 1 p.m Registration

A word from Joe... New Camp came about from a yearning to provide an environment for God to change young people s lives through His Word and the work of His Spirit. We long to see young people become disciples of Christ. God has done some amazing things through New Camp over the years. We are excited to see what He is going to do in 2014! I cannot think of a better leadership team anywhere. Wayne Barber is a dynamic communicator that when he teaches the Bible, it comes to life. Our worship time brings us into the very presence of God. Dan Doughty completes the camp staff by creating challenging and group initiative games. Our mission is to enable youth to open their minds... And hearts.... To God s Word and His call on their lives. Come and join us this summer and experience New Camp! Joe Wagner FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH P.O. BOX 788, ANDALUSIA, AL OFFICE: FAX:

WHITE WATER RAFTING DAY On Thursday we have Free Time all day until supper. One of the options is to go Whitewater Rafting at a location about 1 hour from Bryan College. The price will be confirmed nearer to the date of camp. We will have to have your reservations by mid May but there will be more information to come on that. Each camper and chaperone who chooses to participate in this activity must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian if they are under 18 years old, or it must be singed by the person if above 18 years. If your group chooses to participate in this you will need to bring one or more large ice chests to carry your lunches and drinks for the day. We will divide our group of churches into a few large groups to raft at different times down the Ocoee River. Every rafter must be at least 12 years old, no one under 12 will be allowed to raft!
