2 WHAT: Big changes have been announced for the Venturing program. Come spend a day with one of the authors of the new Handbook for Venturers and Venturing Advisor Guidebook to learn all about the changes and how to make them work in your crew s program. Venturing Summit is a weekend of leadership training for youth/adults with opportunities to learn the big changes coming to Venturing, including new award requirements and a sneak peek at the new handbooks. The VOA-Venturing Officer Association will have an induction, recognition of the Venturing Leadership Award and National Youth Leadership Award. Participants will also have chance to explore all that Latimer has to offer with Mountain Biking, Water Sports, Rappelling, Climbing, Hiking and Shooting Sports. WHO: This weekend is for all registered Venturing youth and Sea Scouts as well as adults who have Venturing program responsibilities and interest. In addition to Venturing Advisors, Associate Advisors, and Crew Committee Members, we strongly encourage Boy Scout Leaders, Commissioners, and District Training Team members who would like to learn more about Venturing to attend this weekend as well. WHY: The purpose of the weekend is to share knowledge and ideas with your peers throughout the Middle Tennessee Council to keep your Council s Venturing Program vibrant while interacting in training sessions and exciting programs and, most importantly.to HAVE FUN! Who Will Teach The Course: Keith Gehlhausen from Central Region will be at Latimer to help us learn about the changes and how they can help the Crews grow. Keith has been involved with the Venturing program for the last 14 years, having served as an Advisor of two very different, but very successful crews. He has also served Venturing at the council, region, and national levels. 2
