2 LifePoint Ministries issues the following clergy credentials: 1. Local Church Minister s Certificate 2. Minister s License, Minister of Discipleship Ministries License, and Minister of Music License 3. Certificate of Ordination Requirements of Study for Local Church Certificate, License, and Ordination Local Church Minister s Certificate- MCP License- MCP Certificate of Ordination- MCP
3 LIFEPOINT MINISTRIES SCHOOL OF MINISTRIES PROGRAM (SOM) LifePoint Ministries (LPM) School of Ministry is a one to three-year program (depending on the level of achievement you desire to attain). It is a program that offers training in specialized areas of ministry, biblical principles, leadership gifting, and essential skills to equip you for life. Through this experience our goal is to better equip you for ministry and to strengthen your relationship with God and others in LPM. This SOM is designed to equip those that are working in the local church, as well as, those that may later desire to pursue a ministerial credential with the IPHC. (If pursuing ministerial credentials in the IPHC, an application and approval process is required.) Our goal is to start a new 3-year cycle of the classes offered, at the beginning of the year (providing enough students have registered). The SOM program will require: Online Study Self- Study Classroom Study (3 times a year) Cost: Registration Cost - $ per year and can be paid quarterly if needed. This fee also helps to cover some of the cost of onsite teaching. The purchase of all books required is the responsibility of the student as well as any overnight stay accommodations. Location: Will be announced after registration (This will depend on how many register and the locations of those who register). Registration: Registration deadline is November 30 th of each year. Registration will be available online at the conference website. Classroom Study will normally happen during the months of either January or February, April, June, and September of each year. Instructors: Will consist of college professors, seasoned ministers, and conference leaders.
4 Detailed List of Studies that will be offered: Introductory Session (Classroom Experience) What the Bible is All About (requirement: read book for classroom experience) How to Study Your Bible (requirement: read book before classroom experience Light for the Journey (requirement: online study before attending classroom experience) Spring Session (Classroom Experience) Becoming a Contagious Christian (requirement: read book and take open book test, prior to attending class) The Master Plan of Evangelism (requirement: read book before classroom experience) Century of the Holy Spirit (requirement: read book and take open book text prior to attending class) The Beauty of Balance (requirement: read book before classroom experience) Character Matters (requirement: read book and take open book test; prior attending class) Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life (requirement: read book before classroom experience) Summer Session (Classroom Experience) Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life (requirement: read book and open book test) Spiritual Leadership (requirement: read book before classroom experience) Communication For A Change (requirement: read book before classroom experience) The Spirit Helps Us Pray (requirement: read book and open book test) The Power of the Call (requirement: read book before classroom experience) Fall Session (Classroom Experience) This session will be designed to offer electives, based on the needs of the student. Classes in areas of pastoral care, youth ministry, and worship ministry will be offered in the fall session. Books required to read will be based on the need of the students and will be announced during the Introductory Session, at the beginning of each year.
