6 CAC Early College Program Get an early start to college and earn FREE college credits by taking CAC classes starting at the end of the sophomore year. Only 7 credits are allowed during the summer but there is no limit during the school year. To join the CAC Early College Program (earning college credits while still in high school), you must complete the following steps: 1. Complete an Early College Application. 2. Complete the College Placement Test in reading, writing and math. No SAT or ACT required. 3. Meet with a CAC academic advisor to review scores and select courses. 4. Enroll in CPD 101 (1 credit Orientation to Student Development) 5. Submit a completed course registration form to the Records Office. 6. Attend the required Early College Orientation session. Taking classes at CAC starts your college GPA so take these classes seriously. Not following any of these steps, will make you ineligible for the FREE tuition and you will be billed for classes taken. College level classes can be transferred to in-state universities and give you dual credit at your high school. Classes transfer to In State Universities (outside universities you must check) Dual credit earned (Any English, science, elective) Elem. What: English, math, reading, and science-just like ACT, a career interest inventory that can help find the best career choices for you, score explanation Cost: $15.00 Register: Thursday, 10/ in the bookstore. Once all tests are sold, no more will be ordered. Must bring receipt and photo ID on the day of the test.

14 CAVIT Aesthetics (skin and facial) Prerequisites: (new program) Completed ten high school credits, completed two years of English, good attendance record, have a Social Security card, be 16 years of age by the first day of classes, no criminal record. Cosmetology Prerequisites: Ten high school credits, two years of English, display a good attendance record, possess a Social Security Card, be 16 years of age by June 18, 2012, No criminal record. Dental Assistant (2 year program) Prerequisites: (new program), must be sophomores. Emergency Medical Technician Prerequisites: only high school seniors, SS card, CAC reading test requirement, current health immunizations, 2.5 GPA, 1 biology credit, no criminal record. Fashion Design (2 year program) Prerequisites: (new program), must be sophomores. Fire Science Prerequisites: 2.5 GPA, 1 credit biology/anatomy/physiology, no criminal record, 90% attendance. Related career specialists: Firefighter, rescue worker, fire inspector, wild land fire crew, fire/arson investigator. Law Enforcement Prerequisites: 2.5 GPA, credit in biology/anatomy/physiology, 90% attendance, 2 English credits. Related career specialists: Security officer, probation officer, patrol officer, corrections officer, security systems sales, customer service representative. Medical Assistant (2 year program) Prerequisites: B in science, good attendance, 2 English credits. 2nd year minimum COMPASS reading score or passed CAC reading course. Related career specialists: medical assistant, medical lab tech, insurance claims clerk, medical records/health, information tech, medical office receptionist, medical coder/transcriptionist. Nursing Assistant Prerequisites: 1 credit biology/anatomy/physiology, 2 English credits, no criminal record, CPR certification prior to clinicals, 90% attendance. Related career specialists: nursing assistant, home health aide, licensed practical nurse, registered nurse. Therapeutic Massage Prerequisites: 2.5 GPA, 1 biology or anatomy/physiology credit, 2 English credits, CPR certification prior to clinical work, 90% attendance.
