10 Graduation Requirements Earn 230 credits (or more) Complete coursework in required subjects and in elective courses Pass ALL current classes Remediate F s earned in previous years Review your Grad Status Report on the Student Portal

11 Grad Status Report On the Student Portal, click Grades, then Graduation Status, then check the box: Show credit details Required courses with F s from 9 th and 10 th grades need to be made up To be on track to graduate, you need to have earned a minimum of 120 credits so far

12 Graduation vs. A-G Requirements D s earn credits for high school graduation, BUT D s do NOT satisfy A-G requirements for college UC s and CSU s consider D s in required courses to be subject omissions SO D s must be raised to C s through Credit Remediation

13 If your Grad Status Report shows That you need to make up credits for F s in required courses, OR That you need to raise D s to C s for college admission, THEN You need to enroll in Credit Remediation. Please see your counselor

15 Focus on the 3 Keys Attend every class every day on time. Do ALL of the work, not just some of the work. Get help when you need it. Check your Student Portal regularly Use informal Progress Reports when necessary Meet with your teachers Attend free on-campus Homework Help

Optional 40-minute essay Test Fee: $54.50 (with essay) $43.00 (w/o essay) Scoring: 1600 points; no penalty for wrong answers. Test Fee: $56.50 (with essay) $39.50 (w/o essay) Scoring: 35 points; no penalty for wrong answers. Register on-line (Must upload photo identification)

20 4-Year College or University Admission Exams Take the test for the first time at the end of your Junior Year Retake the test before December of your Senior year to try to raise your score Fee Waivers are available in the Counseling Office (Free/Reduced Lunch Program)

21 SAT Subject Tests No longer required for UC admission, but certain programs on some campuses recommend them. English - Literature History - World History - U.S. History Mathematics - Math Level I - Math Level 2 (UC s) Foreign Language - French - German - Japanese - Korean - Spanish - Italian - Latin - Hebrew Science - Biology - Chemistry - Physics You may use Subject Tests to satisfy A-G courses that require grade improvement

24 Community College For transfer to a 4-Year College or University Associate Degree in Arts (AA) or Science (AS) Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T or AS-T) Guaranteed admission to the CSU system as a Junior (but not to a particular campus) for selected majors Priority admission consideration to local CSU campus For Career/Technical Education Certificate programs for immediate employment in specialized occupational areas

PSAT Wednesday, October 14 at OHS (during the regular school day) A preview of the new, redesigned SAT Good practice for all college admission exams (SAT, ACT, community college placement tests) Feedback on your test-taking strengths and weaknesses The opportunity to qualify for National Merit Foundation scholarships/awards The PSAT costs you... NOTHING!
