12 DE AGEC and AA degrees available AGEC ú Arizona General Education Curriculum ú AGEC transfers to any in- state University ú Classes are lumped together to transfer as a unit ú 1 st year college courses (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Humanities, Electives) Associate s Degree ú Two- year degree which is transferrable to any college or University in the nation. ú All classes transfer as a whole ú Without the AA, some classes may not transfer. ú AGEC + 27 cr. electives ú Entire degree is available through DE

17 Early Start Scholarship All Seniors planning on getting AGEC or AA at MCC are able to get 7 FREE credits through MCC if they are planning on getting the AGEC or AA Use for certificate or degree program Use for elective options Use for technical classes

Apply to colleges Request transcripts be sent to colleges Apply for scholarships and financial aid Retake ACT or SAT if needed Update resume SPRING Apply to Community Colleges Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Continue to apply for scholarships Accept or decline admission to schools Take AP exams

21 AIMS Tuition Waiver Partial tuition waiver renewable each year Must complete 16 Core Competency Courses: 4 English, 4 Math, 3 Lab Science, 2 Social Studies, 2 Foreign Language, 1 Fine Art AND Must receive a B or better in each course AND GPA 3.5 in core competency courses AND EXCEED on all 3 AIMS tests OR exceed 2 AIMS tests and receive a score of 3 on 2 AP tests Qualify with ACT and/or SAT scores Must exceed during junior year ú Sign up in guidance now for last chance!

25 Types of Financial Aid FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) ú ú Grants: Money awarded based on financial need that is not repaid ú Loans: Money awarded to students that is paid back ú Federal Work Study: Part- time employment on campus or in community service programs Scholarships: Awards of cash or tuition that do not have to be repaid. Based on academic performance, competition, skill, or financial need.
