By default, SPU checks fr prduct updates every 30 days. This ptin is available nly if yu install SPU in Full mde. Select t start the SNMP agent. Select t enable the registratin f unsigned third-party drivers. If yu enable the registratin f unsigned third-party drivers, the installatin prcess culd ask users if they trust the makers f the drivers during installatin. This can cause issues if yu deply the installatin in Silent mde. Therefre, it s best t disable the registratin f third-party drivers if yu deply the installatin in Silent mde. Optinal Ink Settings Start SMART Ink at lgn Make SMART Ink Viewer the default PDF viewer Enable SMART Ink fr Raming Prfiles Select t start SMART Ink when the user lgs n. Select t make SMART Ink Viewer the default PDF viewer. Select if yur netwrk is set up t use raming prfiles s that Micrsft Office applicatins run prperly n cmputers that dn t have SMART Ink installed. This prperty defines the language f the installer s user interface and the installed sftware s icns and shrtcuts. It desn t define the installed sftware s user interface language. The installed sftware uses the cmputer s perating system language if it s supprted, r English (U.S.) if nt. Yu can als use the TRANSFORMS prperty t apply an MST file created by SMART Install Manager r a third-party tl. If yu chse t nt install Bridgit sftware, the Cnnect buttn desn t appear in SMART Meeting Pr PE sftware. Visual Studi Tls fr Office (if nt installed) 3. SMART Meeting Pr PE sftware installatin package IMPORTANT If yu want t deply language packs, yu must create a flder named Supprt in the same lcatin as the installatin package (MSI file) and MST file. Create a subflder in the Supprt flder and name it Languages. Place the language packs in this subflder. Fr infrmatin n deplying SMART sftware using yur rganizatin s third-party imaging r remte management sftware, see the sftware s dcumentatin. NOTE This prcedure may vary depending n yur versin f Windws perating system and yur system preferences. T deply an installatin package using Grup Plicy-based deplyment sftware 1. Cpy the MSI file, MST file and Supprt flder t \\[Dmain Cntrller]\NETLOGON, where [Dmain Cntrller] is yur dmain cntrller. 2. Open Cntrl Panel, duble-click Administrative Tls, and then duble-click Active Directry Users and Cmputers. The Active Directry Users and Cmputers windw appears. 3. Right-click yur dmain, and then select Prperties. The Prperties dialg bx appears. 4. Click the Grup Plicy tab, and then click Edit. The Grup Plicy Object Editr dialg bx appears. 5. Brwse t Cmputer Cnfiguratin\Sftware Settings. 6. Right-click Sftware Installatin, select New > Package, brwse t and select the MSI file, and then click OK. 7. In the Deply Sftware sectin, click Advanced, and then click OK. 8. Click the Mdificatins tab, click Add, and then brwse t and select the MST file. 9. Click OK t apply the MST file t the MSI file. 10. In the Deply Sftware sectin, click Advanced, and then click OK. 11. Clse all pen windws and dialg bxes. 21 CHAPTER 2 CUSTOMIZING AND DEPLOYING THE SOFTWARE ON WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEMS Activating SMART Meeting Pr PE sftware There are tw situatins in which the sftware desn t activate cmpletely: Imaging a cmputer: Fr the sftware t activate prperly, each cmputer yu install it n must have a unique installatin ID. If yu use a cmputer image r clne a hard drive t set up multiple cmputers, they all have the same installatin ID as the riginal cmputer, which can cause an activatin errr. Prtecting sftware fr cmputer cnfiguratins: If yu use system recvery r prtectin sftware, yu shuld activate the sftware befre yu lck r freeze the cmputer fr yur users.
