Summary: The SEO Team Lead, in conjunction with the SEO Manager, oversees the SEO staff in their day-to-day conduct of business operations. The Team Lead is a resource to team members with questions, issues, and ideas related to their essential job functions. He/she is also a proactive mentor, trainer, auditor, sharing experiential knowledge of DDC systems, tools, and procedures, as well as being a resource on search engine marketing and automotive industry news. The Team Lead directly supervises a subset of analysts and/or copywriters and provides oversight to all SEO team members who perform related jobs and tasks using program-specific procedures and best practices. The Team Lead demonstrates a thorough understanding of search engine optimization strategies and the ability to research and analyze individual account courses of action as well as present substantiated recommendations for large-scale implementation. The SEO Team Lead facilitates the ongoing efforts to achieve

Supervise a team of analysts and/or copywriters, including primary responsibility for job-specific training, mentoring, auditing and evaluation a. Hold staff accountable for the work day, work load, job implementation/execution, adherence to standards of quality and efficiency, professional conduct and customer service values. b. Recognize the training and resource needs of supervisees and coordinate opportunities to expand knowledge and practice of products and skills. c. Perform staff evaluations and implement corrective action plans, including recommendations for compensation adjustments to Department Manager. d. In conjunction with Manager, participate in actions and decisions related to hiring, firing, compensation, and resource allocation. 2. Serve as mentor & trainer in the both functional and technical skill development a. Share experiential knowledge of DDC systems, tools, and procedures, as well as being a resource on search engine marketing and automotive industry news b. Reinforce program-specific procedures and best practices. c. Identify training needs and conduct, assist and/or coordinate training for SEO personnel (initial and ongoing). d. Conduct training, as requested, for other departments and new hires whose work impacts or is impact by SEO activities. 3. In conjunction with SEO Manager and SEO Operations Coordinator, monitor volume of new SEO subscribers and evaluate work assignments (and reassignments) for SEO Team members a. Serve as back up to Operations Coordinator (for absences) to perform daily account & task assignments

3 b. Assess & coordinate backup coverage for direct reports due to planned and unexpected absences. 4. Perform regular audits to identify global trends as well as individual performance opportunities a. Track ratios of team members to account assignments to address resource allocation needs b. Track fulfillment of key milestones (e.g., initial account optimizations, quality assurance measures, re-optimizations, cancellations, and so on) c. Assess quality of content, link building, and other SEO strategies employed 5. Mediate escalated issues involving internal and external customers and ensure team members demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. 6. Create (greater) clarity and consistency within the department with respect to process and implement models for work performance that balance efficiency with quality. a. Recognize the value of empowering individuals to have more responsibility for their assigned accounts b. Balance the desire to allow team members to implement their own ideas and use their discretion with the importance of ensuring proper guidelines and oversight that supports alignment of quality, scalability and capacity. 7. Stay abreast of new developments and changes in organic search; proactively share best practices, trends and tips with team; be a resource to team and help evaluate the validity of information they find and relevance to DDC strategies, products and tools. 8. Develop and/or revise documentation, and monitor the adherence to SEO s processes/procedures related to OEM-specific, retail, or other programs and products.

Serve as content author for accurate and timely SEO-specific implementation guidelines and best practices, as well as collaborate with other stakeholders on overlapping, interdepartmental program documentation to ensure publication, accuracy and access. b. Facilitate awareness of and training needs for relevant members of SEO Department to ensure clear communication on objectives, procedures and outcomes. 9. In conjunction with the SEO Manager, build and maintain a respectful atmosphere and engaged team by modeling a commitment to working smartly, performing responsibilities with consistency, achieving tangible results, and conducting interactions with integrity. 10. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Knowledge, skills, abilities required: Education and Work Experience: A bachelor s degree in marketing, journalism, English, business, IT or a related field(s) is required, but 3 or more years of relevant work experience is an acceptable substitute. Minimum of 2 years of direct work experience in SEO and proven track record of successful SEO campaign management and growing organic traffic using ethical techniques. Minimum of 2 years in a client-facing role is required. Prior personnel management experience is strongly desired, but 1 or more years in a leadership role of people and projects is acceptable. Search marketing and social media experience (e.g., pay per click, blogging, etc.) strongly desired. Technical Aptitude - Advanced knowledge of internet applications and protocols (web browsers, , http, ftp). Knowledge of web display languages (html, CSS) and Microsoft

5 office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). In depth understanding of search engines and search engine optimization techniques, and principles for sound SEO design. Knowledge of development techniques and databases desired but not required (asp, xml, JavaScript, php, esl, SQL). Communication Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate articulately both verbally and in writing; strong copywriting and proofreading skills; highly customer focused (internal and external customers), including managing difficult situations and difficult people. Organization Strong time management skills, above average ability to multi-task proactively and in response to issues as they arise; proven methods to manage self and others; adept at problemsolving, able to follow procedures, flexible to creatively develop solutions and work-arounds as needed. Professional Integrity Ability to employ a high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential matters; conduct professional interactions with respect; can overcome resistance (in self and others) and demonstrate an ability to compromise when needed; strive for excellence. Team-Building Display passion for SEO and motivate self and others through positive means; empathetic; accessible (e.g., open door policy), model expected behavior; prioritize needs of self, others and organization. Reporting relationships and Contacts: This position reports directly to SEO Manager. There is an expectation for the SEO Team Lead to work independently and with a high degree of autonomy. This position interacts with all levels of customers and co-workers across all divisions, in particular in the Production, Account Management, SEM, Support, Sales, Billing and
