A new conception of fair for real estate: an all year round active network I wish to introduce the fair by quoting from the philosopher Gian Battista Vico: they seem misfortunes and yet, they represent opportunities. The crisis has strongly affected the market and changed its dynamics, the lines of development of the sector will never again be the distorted lines of the past few years. Recovery will be slower and not easy becomes, for the enterprises that are trying to take off again, a year in which to invest on themselves and evaluate what the real opportunities for growth are. The fair will open its doors by concentrating on tangible opportunities for the real estate community: there are in fact, funds, private banking companies and other subjects that have the resources to invest: their inaction is due to a year of inactivity and the difficulty of identifying the real opportunities available. A network which lives on specific moments and instruments: The EIRE event: 8 th -10 th June The entrepreneurial missions abroad in strategic Countries of the Mediterranean area and present at EIRE such as those carried out this year in Turkey and Montenegro. Sao Paulo, Brazil, foreseen in autumn. On the website EIRE Forum: an area for discussions and analysis on subjects and novelties of the sector MyEIRE: the possibility to contact the operators that belong to the Community directly. The event wishes to become a unifying centre for knowledge and relations which reaches its most intense moment during the three day event, but which lives and is developed on during the course of the entire year. 8 EIRE

14 Mediterranean area and emerging Countries In Milan the real estate of the Mediterranean area and emerging Countries The Mediterranean basin states Antonio Intiglietta, president of Ge.Fi. spa, the organising company of the event has a propensity towards development, where the desire for growth is considerable and the percentage of young people very high. EIRE is a place for relations and relationships which during the year, brings into contact the markets of the Mediterranean area, Europe, the Balkans and a few emerging Countries. FOREIGN PRESENCES AT EIRE 2010: MALTA Malta will be present at EIRE with numerous operators under the direction of Malta Enterprise among which are: the Baldacchino Group, Penderville, Gap, Karkanja, and Regus. MONTENEGRO Also at the fair Montenegro Ministry for Development and MIPA, Investment promotion Agency for the Montenegrin State. Among the private entities present, Porto Montenegro and Gintasmont Investment Construction and Trade enterprises SLOVENIA JAPTI, Slovenia public agency for business and foreign investments. TURKEY Among the Turkish institutional presences will be Government Agency TOKI (Government Agency for housing policies) and Municipality of Smirne. Important private enterprises, such as Apec, Varyap, Tulip Development and Avrupa Konutlari will also be present. FRANCE Institutional authorities such as Provence Promotion and Epamarne - Epafrance, under the direction of Italian Chamber of Commerce for France in Marseille. EGYPT Also present will be GAFI, the General Authority for investments linked to the Egyptian Ministry for investments and important private Egyptian players, such as Orascom and Rooya. MOROCCO Morocco will be present with Al Omrane, a building company linked to the Morocco Ministry of Environment. BRAZIL Brazil will be present at EIRE with City of Sao Paulo and State of Salvador de Bahia. NICARAGUA Present for the first time at EIRE with ProNicaragua, Agency for the promotion of Nicaraguan Investments and with private players such as Grupo Sooner and Pellas Development Group. PROMOS REPORT ON REAL ESTATE OF THE MEDITERRANEAN AREA EIRE presents the Report on real estate of the Mediterranean area, in collaboration with Promos, Milan Chamber of Commerce and Ge.Fi. The Report will be presented during the EIRE inaugural conference by Bruno Ermolli, President of Promos, and contains a general picture of urban development in the Countries of the Mediterranean area and a more detailed analysis of the single contexts in terms of real estate investments, such as Morocco, Egypt, Turkey and Montenegro. 17 Institutional presences ROME AND MILAN PRESENT THEMSELVES ROME 2020 PROJECT The Rome Mayor, Gianni Alemanno will take part at the inaugural conference and also at the Rome 2020 project conference, foreseen on 9th June, concerning the strategic development of the city in view of the Olympic 2020 candidature. The Municipality of Rome will be present at the fair with its affiliated companies (Acea - E.U.R. The Manifesto wishes above all to highlight what state property federalism means in terms of growth and development in quality for cities and the territory: the freedom and responsibility of local communities must emerge so that the recovery of this property and its valorisation is done intelligently and becomes a service for the public good, by taking into consideration the needs and specific aspects of the territory, in order to bring social advantages to the community and a higher quality of life. 16 EIRE

20 Social Housing Exhibition Social Housing Exhibition: the first and largest Italian and European exhibition dedicated to Social Housing EIRE presents a new area exclusively dedicated to Social Housing EIRE presents the first edition of the Social Housing Exhibition. An exhibition and communication area within EIRE dedicated to social housing: design and architecture firms, enterprises and consortiums will present and promote their accomplished projects, social housing models and the best technologies and innovations in construction, materials and furnishing. The fair is the ideal place to meet the Italian Public Administration, public residential companies, the EIRE Community, the governments and foreign delegations present at the fair and the Banking Foundations interested in social housing investments. 18 EIRE

23 Tourism Real Estate The Hospitality Awards EIRE is also proposing this year, the Hospitality Award competition, designed by R&D Hospitality with the aim of increasing awareness among operators in order to achieve better quality housing accommodation which must also be coherent with the trends and requirements of the market, with awards given for the best 2009 projects connected to the tourist sector, during the course of the fair. The prize giving will take place on 8 th and 9 th June: Hospitality Innovation Project Prize, Tourism Investment Prize Management Prize.
