1 Position Reports to Treasury Company Synlait Milk Ltd Date: February 2015 Location 1028 Heslerton Road, Dunsandel, Canterbury Purpose The Treasury position involves the responsibility to ensure that SML s financial risk is managed within the parameters set out in the Treasury Policy in addition to reporting upon compliance to this policy. This role will develop, implement and maintain the treasury policy framework and its associated procedures. Key to executing these procedures will be the exhaustive utilisation of the treasury management system. Specifically the role includes: Cash management (NZD, USD, EUR and RMB) Foreign exchange management Working capital financing Loan, IRS and overdraft management Treasury policy compliance and associated reporting Management of all other derivative instruments and contracts Key Performance Areas Cash management Daily liquidity management for cash denominated in all currencies utilised by SML Daily fund transfers to maintain liquidity Bank statement reconciliation and daily updates of cashflow models and TMS Short term cashflow forecasting and reporting Foreign exchange management FX orders and delivery Maintenance of the excel swap report and the TMS Month end valuation and reconciliation of all deriviatives FX policy compliance assessment and associated reporting Proposal of FX tactics for review by the Financial Controller and tactical planning committee Treasury PD February 2015 Page 1 of 6
2 Key Performance Areas Working capital financing Inventory finance drawdowns, reconciliation and associated accounting Trade finance drawdowns, reconciliation and associated accounting Review of all LC s before execution and administrating the discounting of LC s with SML banks Administrating and reconciliation of all factoring of customer balances Loan, IRS and overdraft management Administrate the periodic drawdown of term loans and overdraft facilities Administration if interest rate swaps and related derivatives in accordance with SML treasury policy Administrate all interest accruals and associated accounting Periodic reporting and support periodic forecasting of finance expenses Treasury policy compliance and associated reporting Management of all other derivative instruments and contracts Ensure SML remains in compliance to Treasury policy at all times. Where it appears possible that SML may move outside policy, the Treasury accountant should make recommendations to the to remediate the situation Periodic reporting on treasury policy along with proposing recommended tactics and actions Periodic review of treasury policy parameters and recommendation of amendments to the Financial Controller Derivative contract administration Month end valuation and reconciliation of all derivatives Derivative policy compliance assessment and associated reporting Proposal of derivative tactics for review by the and tactical planning committee Treasury PD February 2015 Page 2 of 6

6 Qualifications, Skills and Experience Qualifications: Minimum of a University Degree in Commerce CA membership of the ICAANZ is a prerequisite At least 7 years experience in similar roles Experience: Experience in administrating and managing FX derivatives Experience in administrating and managing other derivatives, including, but not limited to, interest rate swaps etc Experience in short term liquidity management across multiple currencies, facilities and bank accounts Experience in reporting of treasury risk and effectiveness management Skills: Expert knowledge of financial instruments, different foreign exchange contract types and tactics. Expert knowledge of NZ IFRS as they relate to treasury transactions Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment. Health & Safety 1.
