1 Shocker T-Shirt design contest 2009 rules and regulations What is the Shocker T-Shirt Contest? The Shocker Shirt is a t-shirt contest promoting Shocker Pride. Awards: The top three (3) finalists designs will receive WSU textbook scholarships and be printed on shirts that will be sold in the Univesity Bookstore. First, Second and Third place designs will be determined by t-shirt sales in the University Bookstore during October Scholarships to be awarded: First place; $400, Second place; $200, Third place; $100. Proceeds from shirt sales will go towards WSU student scholarships. Announcements: The three (3) semifinalists will be announced during the John Zaffis program on Friday, October 2. First, Second, and Third places will be announced Monday, October 26 at 7:00 pm during Shocktoberfest Songfest. Eligiblity: All entrants must be current WSU students.

2 rules and regulations (continued) Number of entries: Up to three (3) designs may be entered per person. Only one (1) design per person may win. A tif or ai format should accompany entries. Deadline: T-shirt designs must be submitted with the entry/permission form to the RSC Activities Office, room 219 by 5:00 pm, Friday, September 18, No entries will be received after the specified time and date. Design Guidelines: Designs must encompass the theme of Shocker Pride. Preferably designs should be computer generated, although hand drawn submissions will be accepted Entries must be designed for one side only, should not include designs on the sleeves, and be no larger than 11 x 11. Design entries should be no more than three (3) color. All entries must be original and the student s own creation. Artwork must not be fashioned after or appear similar to trademarked or copyrighted material Designs must be appropriate in nature and not have any vulgar content. Any entry that is deemed inapproriate will be automatically disqualified.

3 rules and regulations (continued) Design Guidelines: (continued) No design materials will be provided by the sponsors. ***Designs which include Wu Shock must use its original design. Wu Shock cannot be modified in any way.*** Judging Criteria: Judges will be selected by the sponsors. When selecting the finalist designs, judges will consider the creativity, originality, neatness of presentation, wearability (transferable to a t-shirt), and use of WSU school spirit. All decisions of the judges are final. Finalists: No more than three (3) designs will be chosen as finalists. All finalists must submit an electronic copy of their winning design and a photo of their self. Liability: By submitting an entry, you grant the transfer to the RSC all rights, including copyright, trademark rights, rights of publicity or privacy, and any other rights, in and to the design in the entry, including the right to reproduce, edit, and distribute the design without further permission or compensation, and authorize the RSC to use your name in conjunction with advertising or promotional materials related to the Shocker T-Shirt Design Contest.

4 rules and regulations (continued) Liability: (continue) Employees of the RSC will exercise every possible percaution in handling the entries, but they cannot assume responsibility for damage to the original design or loss of pieces. Return of entries: All works must be picked up between Monday, October 26 and Friday, October 30 in the RSC Activities Office RM219. The sponsors reserve the right to dispose of any designs not picked up by the deadline as they see fit unless prior arrangements have been made. 6 Shocker T-Shirt design contest 2009 Permission Form The undersigned hereby grants permission to the RSC to use the following artwork in the WSU Shocker Shirt T-Shirt Design Contest. The RSC retains the right to make any necessary alteration to the said artwork (in color, size, etc) for reprint and retains the right not to produce sa prize winning entry. Additionally, the RSC is granted permission to utilize your artwork in another medium with out any payment to entrants. Winning designs will have to be approved by the WSU Athletics Association. One copy of this permission form must be returned to the Activities Office, RSC Room 219, and one copy shall be retained by the undersigned. Please print legibly.
