1 Job Profile President and Chief Executive Officer The is seeking a highly qualified, visionary leader to serve as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of our $4.5 million statewide organization. Our next President / CEO will be the primary spokesperson and lead advocate in advancing our mission to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.. The successful candidate will bring global vision with a local touch to our work. He or she will be an individual of high personal and professional integrity able to build trust, engender respect, and inspire confidence among our diverse external and internal stakeholders. As the face of the nationwide Alzheimer's Association in Georgia, he or she will be an effective communicator, raising awareness of the disease and the Association. The President / CEO will also be highly flexible and adaptable and bring warmth and a sense of humor to our work, empowering staff, board members, volunteers and donors to reach their highest potential in pursuit of our vision of a world without Alzheimer's. To fill this role, we seek an individual with proven executive leadership experiences and abilities. These will include: Executive Leadership for Board, Chair and Committees. Working with our statewide board of governors and regional boards, the successful candidate will foster team relationships; provide the knowledge, expertise and respect for the roles of the regional boards and for the Board of Governors. He or she will also help develop and empower board members, identifying and recruiting new members, and engaging and inspiring current and past board members to help the Association achieve its goals Executive Leadership of Management Team and Staff: The President / CEO will initially lead a 4-person leadership team and 35 staff members, headquartered in Atlanta and with 6 regional offices across the state. He or she will empower the leadership team to succeed in their jobs, developing operating plans and budgets in accordance with board direction, ensuring appropriate input from regional staff, committees and boards. With clear communications and a strong understanding of roles, responsibilities and lines of authority, the President / CEO will build trust by creating and maintaining an organizational climate that attracts, motivates and retains high quality staff and practices. He or she will also delegate authority and share information appropriately, establishing accountability across the organization.

2 Executive Leadership for Volunteers and Donors. The President / CEO will understand, value, and grow our pool of passionate and diverse supporters from across the state. In addition to the qualities, experiences and skills listed above, the President / CEO will be highly competent in the following areas: Fund Development: The President / CEO will position the Georgia Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association and its programs to maximize fund development opportunities and will possess knowledge of all types of fund raising activities. He or she will have the ability to make significant asks and foster relationships, creating the wow factor for volunteers, donors and potential supporters. Financial Management: The President / CEO will ensure appropriate financial structure, understand accounting principles, oversee use of resources, and adhere to revenue and expense budgets. Communication: The President / CEO will serve as the primary spokesperson for the chapter and advance concern and awareness for the disease. In doing so, he or she will ensure that written and verbal communication from the Georgia Chapter reflects the association's mission, goals, values and brand; expresses ideas and facts in a clear and understandable manner; delivers organized, structured and convincing presentations. Adaptability and Flexibility: Perhaps most importantly, the next President / CEO of the Georgia Chapter will recognize and champion the value and potential of our many stakeholders. Consequently, he or she will be highly skilled at listening to and understanding others, creating an environment that accepts and respects individual and cultural differences. 3 GENERAL SUMMARY: Position Description President and Chief Executive Officer Reports to: Chair, Georgia Chapter Board of Governors Responsible for the general management of the Georgia Chapter and for ensuring that it carries out the mission and goals of the Alzheimer's Association in the state of Georgia. Provide executive leadership in developing and implementing Association strategic policies, procedures, and services to those served by the Association. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provides leadership in developing strategic plans for future growth of the Chapter which are aligned with the strategic plan of the Association. Provide leadership in the area of Chapter Board development. Provide executive leadership for the Georgia Chapter and implement Board policy decisions within the Chapter. Provide executive leadership for the Chair, the Board of Governors, regional boards of directors, key board committees, and staff to enable timely and responsible decision-making. Lead the management team and, in conjunction with the Board of Governors, develop current operating plans and budgets. Position the Chapter and its programs to maximize fund development opportunities; solicit key donors and develop key community, corporate, government and related sectors in support of the Chapter's fundraising goals. Develop productive, collaborative relationships with other community groups whose missions interrelate with and support the Chapter's work to maximize program delivery opportunities. Ensure support for the Chapter's involvement in advocacy efforts to improve public policy. Serve as a spokesperson for the Chapter to the public, ensuring that written and verbal communication from the Chapter reflects its mission and goals. Represent the Association at public events, conferences, workshops and media events.

4 Maintain an organizational climate that attracts, motivates and retains high quality staff by implementing appropriate human resources policies and practices. Guide, develop and coach staff. Ensure the adequacy and soundness of the Chapter's financial structure. Assure compliance with all Association policies, procedures, standards and applicable regulatory requirements; promote Association-wide programs and initiatives. Ensure Chapter programs and systems are reviewed and evaluated regularly. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. High volume of public contact. Travel by car to attend meetings within the state of Georgia, and by air or car to attend other meetings. Work may be stressful during periods of high volume or tight deadlines. EQUIPMENT: Computer workstation Fax machine Telephone Calculator Photocopier Audiovisual equipment MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in public, health or business management, or a related field; or equivalent work experience. 5 years of demonstrated senior management experience in non-profit or business management position(s). Demonstrated success in fund raising, and experience in budgeting and financial management. Working knowledge of human resources laws and regulations. Experience supervising professional and clerical staff and volunteers.

5 Proficient user of personal computer and software applications. Successful experience in providing leadership for, working with and developing Boards of Directors. PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have high level of integrity, diplomacy and initiative and be able to lead by example. Ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff and external contacts to build and maintain successful teams. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities. Ability to anticipate, identify, organize and analyze growth opportunities. Ability to coach and develop staff and volunteers. Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and electronically to a variety of audiences. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Ability to analyze information and make timely, appropriate decisions. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Ability to travel as needed to perform job duties.
