3 THE OPPORTUNITY Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Canada is seeking a skilled and passionate fund development professional to provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management in Central and Southwestern Ontario Region. Reporting to the Executive Director for the Region, the Manager of Fund Development plays a key role in overseeing and supporting the fund development activities and events of the 10 volunteer-led Chapters throughout the Region as well as the professional staff team that supports them. He/she holds primary responsibility for ensuring that CF Canada Chapters are effectively raising funds and representing the cause at the community level. Specific Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership, direction and support to the region on all fundraising initiatives while continuing to evaluate and assess the sustainability and long term support of each initiative; Develop and implement operational plans in conjunction with the staff team and volunteers at the regional and chapter level; Support, evaluation and supervision of staff in the region; Work with the staff and volunteer leaders to seek new fundraising opportunities and analyze them for potential revenue and resource implications; Achieve revenue and activity targets for the region; Work with Regional Executive Director and other CF Canada staff leaders to solicit corporate, individual and foundation donors and partners and provide effective stewardship of relationships; Ensure that donor stewardship, cultivation and recognition strategies are in place throughout the region; Oversee the creation and support of communication and promotional activities for the region in alignment with national strategies; Provide a structured process for volunteers at all levels to ensure they are supported and that recruitment and retention strategies are in place; Effectively manage relationships through the building and sustaining of an internal communication plan to develop regular updates with staff and volunteers to maintain positive rapport with all community stakeholders;

4 Assist the Regional Executive Director in the preparation, monitoring and management of chapter and regional budgets; Support the regional/chapter managers/coordinators in day to day administration; Function as a key relationship manager and point of contact for partners and donors; Provide direct management and support of certain events and relationships; Recruit and train of staff and volunteers as required. Qualifications: The ideal candidate is able to demonstrate the right combination of strong leadership skills and a proven track record in successful event and community based fundraising, while also to supporting the development of a culture of philanthropy. The candidate should demonstrate the following: Minimum of 3 years of progressive management experience in fund development in a non-profit setting; Experience working with a national multi-level organization preferred; Experience and demonstrated success in event management and hands on implementation of successful fundraising events; Experience in working with volunteers in a fundraising capacity; Experience in managing and supervising staff Demonstrated experience in identifying, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors and corporate funders; Exceptional relationship building experience with demonstrated ability to build trust through diplomacy; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Confident public speaker with the ability to engage donors, volunteers and community organizations; Highly motivated, self-starter with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required; Team player, resourceful and organized; able to multi-task in a variety of contexts;

5 Strong administration and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Raiser s Edge or similar database).
