Position Overview Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for their location in Phoenix, Arizona. The COO will provide exceptional leadership to ensure outstanding patient care throughout the facility. Responsible for the overall level of service, and quality of patient care while ensuring financial performance objectives are met. Provides leadership, planning, direction, administrative support to ensure strategic goals and department level key performance indicators are achieved. Ensures facility conditions and standards of compliance adhere to government and accreditation agencies. This individual will be accountability for the following: Leadership and Talent Identifies and develops successors and talent pools for key positions. Attracts and selects the best high-caliber talent by recognizing organization and individual needs; provides career pathways for high potentials. Creates an environment that fosters opportunities for personal growth and excellence; empowers stakeholders to stretch beyond what they thought they could do. Aligns the organization according to the CTCA strategy and monitors progress; institutes scalable and sustainable infrastructures and processes and to enable long-term business growth.

2 Champions the strategic planning process and ensures alignment with enterprise-wide goals and initiatives. Identifies critical goals and success factors in different functions; supports direct reports in achieving objectives. Positions the business to achieve industry-leading performance. Holds the organization accountable for executing CTCA healthy wellbeing strategies and modeling healthy wellbeing behaviors through my own actions and decisions. Operating Results Oversees the operations of the oncology program. Formulates long-range objectives, plans, and programs for all departments that are consistent with overall hospital objectives. Develops short-range goals for all areas and establishes budgetary guidelines by which goals can be achieved. Oversees the procurement of hospital materials, supplies, equipment, systems, and services in accordance with quality, cost and scheduling of the various departments. Negotiates financial and service agreements with contract vendors and physicians. Serves as acting CEO to cover for President's absence and makes financial decisions on behalf of the CEO for patient exceptions. Assists in the selection of medical staff members and supervises the oncology physician group to ensure continuity and quality of care. Participates with leaders of governing body executive management, department directors and medical staff in developing, implementing, and evaluating the hospital's strategic plan, budgets and resources allocation. Establishes processes and systems that facilitate information sharing, discovery and active listening with patients Aligns top box patient survey results and identifies areas and opportunities for improvement. Develops systems for communicating with all managers, teams and stakeholders and outside partners and cascades important organizational messages throughout the enterprise. Asks questions to gain understanding of each function's contributions to both the organization and the patient experience. Creates an environment for Patient/Stakeholder First environment at all levels of the organization. Brand Delivery Strong orientation toward service excellence. Effectively motivates and coaches staff in CTCA standards of excellence.

Eliminates organization-wide barriers to effective execution. Reports To Hospital CEO Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. Master's Degree (MBA, MHA) strongly preferred. Experience

4 Demonstrative track record of leading a patient centric, patient focused care model Demonstrated track record of a minimum of ten years of hospital operational expertise; inclusive of: 1. Extensive interaction with and leadership of physicians. 2. Direct leadership of a robust clinical trials/innovation program. 3. Direct oncology experience preferred. Minimum of three years in a Vice-President level role; inclusive of Board of Director reporting/accountability. (e.g. business management layer of leadership pipeline). A proven track record of consistently making sound decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment; high level of business and financial acumen including successful P & L management; the ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a financial constraints; Previous leadership and oversight of a strategic planning process, quality improvement programs and process improvement/lean thinking. Career path direction and interest for a future Chief Executive Officer position at CTCA. Skills Impeccable writing, verbal, presentation and communication skills. Superb business acumen. Analytical skills to assess financial costs, impact of programs, develop and administer departmental expense and revenue budgets, and prepare special and recurring reports and analysis. Assures appropriate resource control by preparing, directing and monitoring operating budgets that facilitate the appropriate and effective allocation of human and material resources. Leadership development and coaching skills. Solid relationship-building skills. Proven ability to think innovatively and apply best practices in an organization. Ability to accurately and decisively make decisions interfacing with patients, caregivers, physicians, stakeholders, vendors and various members of the community.
