2 Introduction EUFORES EUFORES is the European parliamentary network for renewable energy and energy efficiency with members from all major political groups in the European Parliament as well as in the EU 28 national Parliaments. EUFORES promotes the deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency within Europe. Therefore, it organises events and conferences to offer Parliamentarians and other key-players the opportunity to exchange their views. The annual Inter-Parliamentary Meeting is EUFORES flagship event with usually Members of Parliaments from all over Europe. Parliamentarians are key actors when it comes to drafting legislation for renewable energy and energy efficiency, which is crucial for developing an effective and stable legislative framework for market development in those sectors. 16th Inter-Parliamentary Meeting on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (IPM16) When: 7 & 8 October 2016 Venue: Parliament of Denmark, Copenhagen Duration: 1,5-day conference Participants: Members of the European Parliament, Members of Parliaments of the EU28, parliamentary civil servants, government representatives, EUFORES non-parliamentary members, selected high level experts, participants. Information: The IPM16 is organised in close cooperation with the Danish Parliament and it naturally attracts Members of Parliament from all over Europe as well as core members of the EUFORES network. The conference focuses on renewable energy sources and related topics, as well as on energy efficiency. At this high-level meeting, top speakers from the Danish Parliament, the European Parliament, national governments, the European Commission, industry representatives and many other experts will gather to discuss the role of renewable energy and energy efficiency for the climate change challenge and a sustainable future. The conference offers excellent networking opportunities throughout the conference, as well as during a welcome reception on the night before the conference starts, a gala dinner held on the first conference day and a site-visit on the second conference day.
