1 Dear Senior Parent/Guardian: It is time to begin preparations for the upcoming senior events! In just a few months your senior will be ending their high school career and moving on to college, military, the workforce, or embarking on some other exciting challenge after graduation. Enclosed is a list of upcoming senior events, and we encourage your senior to participate and celebrate in these exciting activities. This year the senior class will travel to Carowinds on Friday, May 27 th for a day of fun at the park. In order to pay for the trip, we are asking each senior to sell at least 6 Krispy Kreme Value Cards (over $40.00 value) for $16.00 which will pay for their park ticket and their senior breakfast. The fundraiser will start Feb. 1, 2016 and end February 12, All monies and order forms must be turned in to Mrs. Blount by Feb. 12 th. Once orders for the cards have been placed and turned in to Mrs. Blount, students will receive the cards by the next business day. Please help your senior sell to friends, family and your place of work. If a senior decides not to sell the Krispy Kreme cards, the Carowinds ticket will cost $40 and the senior breakfast will cost $5. If a senior has a seasons pass, students will only need to pay $7 for the bus and $5 for the senior breakfast. The Carowinds ticket money and senior breakfast money ($45) or ($12) will be due to Mrs. Blount-Room D129 by Thursday, May 5 th, Please encourage your son/daughter to purchase an honor stole if applicable. Stoles are $20 (cash only) and will go on sale after school at the Jag Café from June 1 st -June 3rd. Stoles are based on a weighted GPA (4.3+ denotes gold stole, denotes silver stole, and denotes white stole). Any senior who owes money at Forestview, a school club or organization, must pay all debts in full by May 20, Seniors that owe monies will be notified during advisory/homeroom. Seniors may not participate in graduation ceremonies if fines, fees, dues or library books are not paid in full. Lastly, if your company/business or family would like to make a monetary donation to help fund either the senior day at Carowinds or the senior breakfast, please fill out the enclosed form and mail to Forestview High School, Attention: Angie Blount. These donations will be used to pay for the transportation to Carowinds, decorations and door prizes for the senior breakfast. In addition, if any parent would like to chaperone the Senior Day at Carowinds or help with the senior breakfast, please contact Angie Blount at or at akblount@gaston.k12.nc.us. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we prepare for a successful and memorable graduation! Sincerely, Jenny Cabe Assistant Principal Angie Blount Senior Class Advisor
