Follow him Picture Day is Wednesday, September 2 nd through all math classes. All students, including seniors, must have their pictures taken. Students that wish to purchase a picture package should bring their order form on picture day or they may order online at mylifetouch.com and entering PB015521Q0 Tablet Distribution News Parents - please note that student tablet distribution will occur much sooner this year than in previous years. Student tablet rollout will take place on September 1st. To ensure that your child receives his/her tablet, be sure to logon to School Cash Online and complete the ADP payment process. The deadline to pay has now been extended to Thursday! The Klein ISD Technology Department recommends using either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome to access School Cash (instead of Internet Explorer).

3 Paying Tablet Fee for Klein Oak Tablet Accidental Damage Protection Coverage (ADPC) payments may be made using School Cash Online beginning August 1st. The ADPC fee is $60. Payment of the tablet ADPC fee is required before a tablet computer will be issued to any student. Additionally, senior and junior students who wish to apply for a student parking permit must prove that their ADPC payment has been made prior to a parking permit being issued by Klein Oak. [Note that Seniors may register for a car pool partner prior to making the ADPC payment. You just need to have proof of payment of your ADPC when you pick up your parking permit at Klein Oak. So please take care of paying you ADPC before buying your parking permit on schoolcashonline.] Because there will be no "Panther Kick-Off" day prior to the beginning of the school year, all payments must be paid online this year. 4 Klein Oak Beautification Project Operation Panther Pride The newly added murals to our campus were made possible by the KO Beautification Project and funded by generous donations from the C/O 2015 and KO PTO. The KO Beautification Club is a new club that through fundraising efforts desires to enhance our school grounds and instill pride in our environment which will result in: Investing time and resources in our youth Connecting with our community Increasing student attendance Increasing employee satisfaction and morale We will collaborate with campus clubs and organizations to raise funds to add murals, landscaping, benches, decor and more to our campus. Our Boys Baseball, Basketball, FFA, Art Club and others, have already signed up to help beautify our campus! We are seeking community and business partnerships that can further assist us with our goal. If you, your company/business, or student is interesting in partnering with the KO Beautification Project please contact Ms. Walters at kwalters1@kleinisd.net TRAFFIC CHANGES Please see the attached drawing regarding the traffic switch for the Kuykendahl Rd, Boudreaux Rd, and Spring Stuebner Rd change that will happen this weekend. Sometime on Friday, August 28 th, the section of Boudreaux Rd that has been closed at the intersection of Spring Stuebner Rd & Kuykendahl Rd, that run beside the Stripes gas station will opened back up all vehicles will be routed onto it. The section of Boudreaux Rd that traffic has been using will be closed until the Kuykendahl traffic is shifted to the east on Monday. It will re-open as a one way road for traffic heading west bound on Boudreaux Rd and this traffic will merge into the main lanes of Boudreaux Rd. SENIORS! PARENTS of SENIORS! On the first day of school your student brought home a pre-printed yellow AGR card which is your student s official registration card for the school year. Please review all information on the AGR card, make any corrections, and encourage your student to get it back to KO immediately. Please write any changes very clearly on the AGR as phone numbers and an address are important ways for KO staff to be able to contact you. This is your opportunity to make sure we have your latest contact information.

6 During the school year be sure to keep the school informed of any changes in your phone numbers or address. Please let Klein Oak be the first to know. Best wishes from the Registrar s Office for a GREAT year! TxVSN Enrollment Open Klein ISD offers online high school courses for initial credit through the Texas Virtual School Network. The district will fund up to 3 courses per semester, as long as they fit into a student s normal course load. Many courses are accelerated, allowing students to earn extra credits during the school year. See the TxVSN web page for more information: If you are interested in taking online courses this semester through the TxVSN, please contact your counselor or Mrs. Lisa Gregory as soon as possible, so that we can complete the application process and arrange your schedule. Parents If your student is not returning to Klein Oak for the school year please come by the registrar s office to complete a summer WD form. (Signing a summer WD form is not necessary for our 2015 gradates.) We will give you information to assist the new school in requesting records to help your student to make a smooth transition. 7 KEEP KLEIN OAK IN THE LOOP! Parents --- Have you moved? Changed your contact numbers? It is imperative that you keep the school informed of your contact information. Address changes cannot be accepted by or by phone. If you move, a new proof of residence (current electric, gas or water bill only) is required to change the address and provide a new bus pass to the student. If you have not yet received a new utility bill, a new lease or closing statement will work for 30 days until a new bill is received.
