Milwaukee Cylinder RFID tags are MHz HF inductive cupled technlgy passive RFID tags designed t wrk in industrial envirnments n tie rd cylinders. These tags are shipped factry laded with identificatin infrmatin related t a specific serial number tie rd cylinder. A descriptin f the infrmatin is lcated in Chart 1 belw. An RFID tag is available fr any tie rd mdel prduct (H, MH, LH, A, and MN) with the specific RFID tag mdel based n tie rd diameter. See Mdel Number Table belw. The Milwaukee Cylinder RFID system is designed t assist cylinder users t quickly and accurately lcate infrmatin abut their cylinder t assist in rdering parts fr crrective and preventative maintenance. The tag includes the cylinder s serial number as well as repair kit mdel infrmatin which is used t cmmunicate t Milwaukee Cylinder the cylinder requiring maintenance t ensure the crrect parts/kits are rdered. 2. RFID Tag Specificatins Operating temperature: -25 t 70 C (-13 t 158 F) Cautin: Only perfrm read r write peratins while within the Operating Temperature range Strage temperature: -25 t 130 C (-13 t 266 F) Nte: Memry will safely be retained in this range Prtectin per IEC IP Rating: 67 Husing material: PPS-GF40 Supprted Standard: ISO Maximum read/write distance: apprximately 75mm Tag is designed fr a RFID reader t read acrss shrt dimensin Nte: RFID tag perfrmance is affected by cntaminatin cntaining metal. Simply wipe dwn tag t imprve perfrmance 4. Installatin/Mving RFID tag The RFID tag nrmally cmes pre-installed n a tie rd clse t the rd end. If needed, it can be mved t a different lcatin t be accessed better by a RFID reader. Required tl: 1/16 hex wrench T mve tag: Lsen the tw set screws. The RFID tag can be slid alng the tie rd r ttally remved and lcated t anther tie rd n the cylinder. Once lcated where desired, simply tighten the set screws until firm resistance is felt. Cmment: Lcate tag n the cylinder where the tag will be mst accessible t an RFID reader. 5. Infrmatin Stred n Tag Each tag includes Static infrmatin and Custmer Entered data. Static infrmatin is cylinder identificatin infrmatin that never changes. Typically this infrmatin is used t btain infrmatin t pre-rder parts. See Chart 1 belw. The infrmatin stred here includes: Serial Number, Date f Manufacture, Mdel Number, Custmer Part Number (if prvided by custmer), Custmer Revisin Number (if prvided by custmer), Bre, Strke, Operating Pressure, Full Repair Kit (Rd/Tube/Pistn Seals, Rd End Bearing), Rd Seal Kit (Rd Seal, Rd End Bearing), Tie Rd Nut Trque and/r Retainer Plate Blt Trque (if applicable), and Supplier s Name, Website and Phne Number (if prvided) and Cmments (Factry entered fr special infrmatin) Milwaukee Cylinder ES4001 Rev C Page 2 f 5

3 Custmer Entered infrmatin - Maintenance Lg. See Chart 2 Belw. The infrmatin stred here includes: Machine Number, Lcatin, Cmments, and 7 lg lcatins t enter date f maintenance and maintenance cmments. The Machine Number and Lcatin are meant t be used by the RFID user t enter infrmatin regarding where the cylinder is being used fr their cnvenience. Once the 7 lg lcatins are used, it is recmmended the user writes ver the earliest entry t ensure the 7 latest maintenance activities are lgged. Reading the RFID tag An RFID reader is required t read/write t the RFID tag. Since there are many 3 rd party RFID reader manufactures, Milwaukee Cylinder des nt ffer an RFID reader. Nearly any MHz HF RFID supprting ISO will read the Milwaukee Cylinder RFID tag. Cntact the RFID manufacturer fr cnfirmatin. RFID Reader Set-Up: Yu will have t set up yur RFID reader t recgnize hw Milwaukee Cylinder data is stred n the RFID tag. This infrmatin is prvided in Chart 1 and Chart 2 abve. Cnsult yur RFID reader manufacturer n hw t set-up yur RFID reader t recgnize this infrmatin. 7. Balluff RFID Hand Held Reader Slutin Balluff ffers a simple t use industrial quality RFID reader slutin, utilizing their Hand Held RFID slutin (M X ) Cntact Balluff fr RFID reader infrmatin. Balluff Technical Supprt: Milwaukee Cylinder ffers special templates designed t be upladed int the abve reader. Cntact Balluff fr instructin n hw t uplad these templates int the Balluff Hand Held RFID reader. These templates include: MC Tag Inf: This cntains the static infrmatin fr the cylinder that des nt change (Serial #, Date f Mfg, Bre.) (See Memry Map Sectin). Typically this infrmatin is used t btain infrmatin t pre-rder parts. MC Maintenance Inf: This cntains data that the custmer can enter nt the tag. This includes the maintenance lg.
