2 s and Awards A primary mission of the WCCC Educational Foundation is to support students. This commitment is evident from the scholarships and awards listed within these pages. Criteria for the scholarships and awards are established by donors, including board members, alumni, faculty, friends, corporations, foundations or organizations. While academic merit and financial need are the usual criteria for selecting scholarship recipients, other factors frequently considered include: academic major, geographic location or special circumstances, such as women entering the workforce or past employee of a local company. All students are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and to apply as directed in the following pages. How to Apply for a Students may inquire about scholarships at any time, but the deadline for application is April 8, 2016 for the academic year. funds are generally disbursed evenly between the fall and spring semesters. An endowed scholarship requires a minimum donation of $10,000 to be established. The interest generated on the original investment is awarded to a WCCC student each year. The scholarship exists in perpetuity. s may be named for the donor or as a tribute to a loved one. All contributions are placed into restricted accounts and are used exclusively for the scholarship or award created by the donor. s are credited to the recipients accounts for tuition or books.
