1 All Glen Oaks Community College Foundation Scholarships can be used for education related expenses and consider academic ability, financial circumstances and career goals in the selection of the recipients. BUSINESS RICHARD M. BELL BANKING SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Richard M. Bell Banking Scholarship: Student must be pursuing a business or financial career (business, finance or banking) Student must be St. Joseph County residents or in the GOCC service area Eligibility for the Hoekzema Business Scholarship: HOEKZEMA BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP Student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, with preference given to full-time students Student must be pursuing an Associates of Business Degree New students must have a 2.5 GPA in high school Returning GOCC students must have a 2.5 GPA Eligibility for the Sturgis Bank & Trust Scholarship: STURGIS BANK & TRUST SCHOLARSHIP Student must be pursuing a business or financial career Student must intend to major in business Student must currently have a 2.5 GPA or in the GOCC service area Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA while receiving the scholarship Eligibility for the Century Bank & Trust Scholarship: CENTURY BANK & TRUST SCHOLARSHIP Student must be pursuing business or financial career Student must intend to major in business or finance or in the GOCC service area

FARMERS STATE BANK BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Farmers State Bank Business Scholarship: Student must be pursuing a business career with business or finance or finance major SOUTHERN MICHIGAN BANK & TRUST BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Southern Michigan Bank & Trust Business Scholarship: Student must be pursuing a business career with business or finance as a major Student must be a St. Joseph, Branch, Calhoun, Cass or Hillsdale County resident SCIENCES THE DONIS ARMSTRONG A STEP UP TO THE SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for The Donis Armstrong A Step Up to the Sciences Scholarship: Student must be pursuing a science degree or career in the sciences Student must be pursuing an Associates of Science Degree

3 HUMAN SERVICES JESSIE ALICE RAY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Jessie Alice Ray Memorial Scholarship: Student must intend to major in education and go into the teaching field (any level elementary, secondary, etc.) Student must be pursuing an Associates of Arts, General Studies, or Science Degree Student must have a 2.5 GPA minimum in high school Student must be able to complete the ACCUPLACER test at a level 9 Student just out of high school must have a recommendation from your high school principal Returning GOCC students must have a 3.25 GPA Preference given to those with experience as a classroom aid or tutor Student must maintain a 3.25 GPA while receiving the scholarship KENNETH KEN R. NELSON SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Kenneth Ken R. Nelson Scholarship: Student must intend to major in education (any level i.e. elementary, secondary, etc.) Student must be pursuing an Associates of Arts, Science, or General Studies Degree Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 Student completing high school must have a recommendation letter from their high school principal Student must be enrolled full-time (12 credits or more) Preference given to those with experience as a classroom aid or tutor Strong consideration given to application with written recommendation from faculty or high school staff. Award applied to tuition and fees only BERNICE L. STRANG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Bernice L. Strang Memorial Scholarship: Student must be enrolled in a Human Services program of study. Examples of these areas include but are not limited to: Education, Early Childhood Development, Pre-Nursing, Allied Health or any Transfer Associates Degree program Preference given to students with residency in either St. Joseph County or GOCC service area.

4 GENERAL JAMES JIM MARTIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the James Jim Martin Memorial Scholarship: Student must be enrolled for at least a minimum of 6 credit hours Financial need may be a consideration if there is more than one qualified applicant Student must be enrolled in an Associates of Applied Science in Technology degree or Associate of Applied Science in Business degree or a Certificate program in at least one of the following fields of study: Accounting, Drafting and Design, Electrical Technologies, Computer Information Systems, Web Page Design, Database/Programming, Management/Marketing, Management/Supervision, Office Administrative Assistant. Preference given to In-district residents of GOCC Preference given to non-traditional student (not required) The recipient will be expected to maintain a 2.5 GPA while receiving the scholarship Award applied to tuition, fees and books only INDIANA MICHIGAN POWER SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Indiana Michigan Power Scholarship: Student must be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours or more Student must be employed full or part-time, at the time of application or have a history of entry-level employment Students must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program in a technical field, i.e.: Associates of Applied Science in Technology or the following Certificates; Automotive Technician or Service, Drafting & Design, Electrical Technologies, Computer Support Tech, Computer Information Systems Preference given to In-district residents GOCC Preference given to non-traditional students Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA while receiving the scholarship Award applied to tuition, fees and books only GOCC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the GOCC Foundation Scholarship: Student must be enrolled in a program for a degree or certificate at GOCC Student must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours or more) Student must be in good academic standing, with a minimum 2.5 GPA or GOCC Service area

JESSIE RAY GENERAL STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Jessie Ray General Studies Scholarship: Student must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours or more), with preference given to full-time students Student must be pursuing an Associates of General Studies Degree or Associates of Science Degree New students must have a 2.5 GPA minimum in high school Returning GOCC students must have a 2.5 GPA Students must be a St. Joseph County resident Strong consideration to applicants with a written recommendation from faculty or high school staff MITCHELL BAKER GENERAL STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Mitchell Baker General Studies Scholarship: Student must be pursuing an Associates of General Studies Degree or an Associates of Science Degree Student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours or more, with preference given to full-time students New students must have a 2.5 GPA minimum in high school Returning GOCC students must have a 2.5 GPA SENATOR HARRY GAST LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Senator Harry Gast Leadership Scholarship: Student must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a minimum 3.0 GPA or GOCC Service area Preference given to student pursuing an Associate Degree in General Studies or an Associates of Arts with emphasis in American Government /political science, history, social sciences, education or social work Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA while receiving the scholarship Student must demonstrate participation in activities and projects beyond standard classroom expectations with voluntary involvement in the community, Student Government, school or college clubs and organizations or athletic teams. Student must proved a written recommendation from faculty or high school staff

Wheeler Leadership Scholarship: Student must display past achievements and a willingness to encourage ongoing leadership qualities through service at GOCC High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA Preference given to applicant pursuing an Associate of General Studies or other Associates Degree programs or GOCC Service area Student may be a first or second year student at GOCC Student must provide two letters of recommendation Leadership may be demonstrated by participation in activities beyond standard classroom expectations with voluntary involvement in Student Government, school or college clubs and organizations or athletic teams. ELMER BLACK COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Elmer Black Community Leadership Scholarship: Student must display achievements and a willingness to encourage ongoing leadership qualities through service at GOCC High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA Student must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours or more) Preference given to applicant pursuing an Associate of General Studies or other Associates Degree programs Student must be a St. Joseph County In-District resident Student may be a first or second year student at GOCC Student must provide two letters of recommendation Leadership may be demonstrated by participation in activities beyond standard classroom expectations with voluntary involvement in the community, Student Government, school or college clubs and organizations or athletic teams.
