They must also be enrolled full-time in a Canadian post-secondary institution; this also includes mature students and adult education programs. The awards will be given to people in preference who have demonstrated financial need, academic and career commitment, contributions to family and community, and who have leadership and role model qualities. They must also submit an essay that shows their commitment in community or other extracurricular activities. They must also have a minimum of a 75% average on their most recently completed full year of school. Deadline: October 31 Top 20 Under 20! Scholarship: $2000 x 20 Website: Conditions: The applicants must demonstrate significant amounts of innovation, leadership, and achievement in their life school, community, or country. They must be pursuing an education or training like Canadian secondary, post-secondary, or training education, including training or apprenticeship programs, GED, CEGEP, college, and university. They must include endorsement of an innovation sponsor, must be under 20 (as of December 31), Canadian

5 citizen or landed immigrant, not already have one a Top 20 under 20 award. Academic achievement will also be looked at. Deadline: January 22 Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Foundation Scholarship Scholarship: $1000 x 3 Website: Conditions: Applicant must be hard of hearing, deafened, or oral deaf (support document is required). They be either first time or returning post-secondary students and enrolled in a fulltime program. They must demonstrate academic achievement and community involvement. Deadline: January 31 Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarship Scholarship: $1000-$2400 Website: Conditions: The applicant can be enrolled as either a full-time or part-time student in any level of their program (undergraduate, secondary, or graduate program) at a Datatel client site. They must submit an online application with a personal essay. They must also show academic merit. Deadline: January 31 Hal Roger s Endowment Fund Bursary: $1000

They must have also not previously received a bursary from the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund. They must demonstrate high ideals and qualities of citizenship, financial need, and school and/or community involvement. Deadline: February 1 Terry Fox Humanitarian Award Scholarship: $7000 Website: Conditions: The applicant must show their involvement in voluntary humanitarian work, be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant. They must also be an undergraduate studying toward their first degree or diploma at a Canadian post-secondary institution in Canada. Deadline: May 31 Manitoba Cattle Producers Association Bursaries Bursary: $500 x 2 Website: Conditions: Must be 17 years of age and an active beef producer or child of an active beef producer in the province of Manitoba, they must use the bursary within two years. Applicants are required to submit a 500 word essay On the importance of the beef industry in Manitoba as well as proof of enrolment in a recognized institution, a listing of community involvement, the program they enter must be a minimum of one year in duration and three references including addresses and telephone numbers. Deadline: June 30 Abraham McPherson Memorial Scholarship Award Scholarship: $250 x 4 Website: Conditions: Must be from Aboriginal ancestry (Status, Non-Status, Inuit, Metis), a Manitoban resident, acceptance or registration into a post-secondary institution, and involvement in schoolrelated extra-curricular activities and volunteer work experience. Priority is given to grade 12 graduates with a minimum of 70% average and a recommendation from an education counsellor or secondary school counsellor. Selection will be based on Senior 2 and 3 marks in compulsory course. Students must have a minimum of 80% average in term/semester 1 of Senior 4. Senior 2 compulsory courses: Math, English, Science, and Geography and Senior 3 compulsory courses: Math, English, and History. They must be a child, step-child or under legal guardianship of a regular status employee (employee must be regular status as of application deadline), 24 years of age or under as of August 31, and the student must not have received a prior post secondary certificate, diploma, or degree unless a letter can be written demonstrating advancement on previous credential. The applicant must also have earned a 70% average in high school or 3.0 GPA in the first year of college. They must submit two letters of reference stating aptitude for career and/or trade/career experience, and a one page statement stating school/community involvement or extra-curricular activities.
