1 SCHOLARSHIPS UW-Marinette offers a variety of scholarships and grants to our students. These awards have been established by the UW-Marinette Foundation, the M&M Community Foundation, local businesses and other sources to help students with their college expenses. The table below lists the variety of scholarships that are available. Please read the criteria for each scholarship to decide which items to include in your essay to be eligible for the maximum number of scholarships you may qualify for in the upcoming year. W. Richards Memorial Natural Sciences Scholarship - $1, Must be pursuing a Bachelor s Degree in a science-related field. For students pursuing the Associate of Arts and Science degree. Recipient need not be employed at Ansul/Tyco, but priority is given to Ansul employees or their family members and to students pursuing a business or engineering major. The award is for one year. Exclusively for Bay Area Medical Center employees pursuing a degree in Nursing Must be actively involved in community service organizations and events. Must carry a 6-credit minimum load. Available to students who demonstrate (through essay) that pursuing a college education is a change in direction in their lives involving risks and overcoming challenges. Renewable for 2 years. Must have a 3.0 GPA in Natural Sciences and a declared major in Natural Sciences with recommendation of one Natural Science instructor at UW-Marinette.

2 Dale N. Olson Scholarship Funds may be only applied to tuition fees. Award is granted based on financial need. Don & Paul Neverman PE, Health & Wellness Scholarship - $700 Awarded by Physical Education faculty to students who excel in Physical Education academic programs. Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust Education Scholarship - $1,000 Must be a student planning to pursue a career in education. First National Bank & Trust Opportunities Scholarship - $ Based on financial need and demonstrated leadership through involvement in school and/or community service or civic engagement. Grace Kirmse Scholarship $700 Must be a Marinette High School graduate of high academic standing who participates in extra-curricular activities. Herta F. Gerend Memorial A 3.0 GPA must be attained during the fall semester to receive the spring award. Ira Darwin Johnson Scholarship - $250 For Marinette High School graduates wtih economic need and appreciation for financial support. Must have at least one recommendation from a Marinette High School teacher. Jeffrey L. Davis RN Scholarship - $8, For a student who is currently at UW-Marinette and plans to transfer to Bellin college to pursue an RN degree. Based on scholastic achievement and financial need. Award made possible through the M&M Community Foundation. Joseph J. Ping Pong Gerand Memorial A 3.0 GPA must be attained during the fall semester to receive the spring award. Karl Schmidt Unisia Family Scholarship - $400 Exclusively for Karl Schmidt Unisia employess or their sons or daughters. Priority given to students pursuing an Engineering curriculum, followed by those pursuing a Business (Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, CIS, etc...) curriculum.

3 Louis W. Staudenmaier Academic Performance Scholarship - 2@$500 Must live within 25 miles of Marinette, Wisconsin. Based on academic performance. Lyle Espencheid Mathematics Scholarship $150 For students who have done well in one remedial Mathematics course and are taking more Mathematics courses. Marinette Women s Club Scholarship - $450 Female Based on academic record, leadership qualities and school and community involvement. Mary and Hugh Higley Student Scholarship $1,000 Non-Traditional For a new or continuing student. Must meet 3 of the following: Must be age 21+; Must have graduated from high school at least 6 months before applying to UW-Marinette or have GED; Must have at least one child; Must work 25 hours/week and intend to continuing working. Based on need. Award made possible through the M&M Community Foundation. Mary and Hugh Higley UW-Green Bay Scholarship - $ Must be a UW-Marinette student transferring to UWGB. Award based on financial need and academic performance. Award made possible through the M&M Community Foundation. Mary L. Staudenmaier Community Service Scholarship- $1, For a student continuing at UW-Marinette who demonstrates through essay their plan to make a difference in the world. Award made possible through the M&M Community Foundation. Mary L. Staudenmaier Community Service Scholarship- $1, For a student planning to transfer to a 4-year institution who demonstrates through essay their plan to make a difference in the world. Award made possible through the M&M Community Foundation. Merritt Bauman Memorial Engineering Scholarship - 2@$2,050 Must be pursuing a pre-engineering curriculum. Renewable up to three years.

4 Molander Family UWS Scholarship - 2@$1,175 For a continuing student who plans to transfer and is pursuing a Bachelor s Degree in Education, Nursing, Engineering, Forestry, Physical or Biological Sciences or Agriculture. Must maintain a 3.0 GPA to receive spring award. Morris G. and Grace R. Mundt Family First Scholarship - $550 Must be a new or continuing student with family commitments. Must have at least on dependent. Must have completed high school at least five years prior to the date of application to UW- Marinette. August 1 deadline. Morrison Jump Start Scholarship Non-Traditional 2.00 For a new student. Must be out of high school at least 3 years. Available to students who demonstrate (through essay) how their time out of high school has prepared them for college and how a college education will help them achieve their goals. One year only. May not be renewed. Pat Reines Health Care Scholarship - $300 Robert Albright Workstudy Success Scholarship - 2@$1,625 Sarah Murray Lambrecht Scholarship - $500 Female Demonstrated interest in caring profession including Nursing, Physical, Occupation or Speech Therapy, Social Work, Pharmacy or Psychology. Preference will be given to staff or family of staff at Renaissance Assisted Living. For a full-time student with demonstrated employment (part or full-time) while pursuing an Associate s Degree. Must be a resident of Marinette or Menominee County with the intent of pursuing a 4-year degree. Award made possible through the M&M Community Foundation Shirley Evans Memorial Must be a Marinette High School graduate, active in student organizations with Bachelor s Degree plans. Awarded to students transferring to UW-Green Bay who are enrolled full-time. Awarded to students transferring to UW-Green Bay who are enrolled full-time. For students in Marinette or Menominee Counties. Must demonstrate involvement as community leaders and volunteers. Must have graduated from high school with honors. Must be a member of the UW-Marinette Honors Program, have earned 12+credits at UW-Marinette and show evidence of community service. Awarded to students transferring to UW-Oshkosh as full-time students. For residents of Menominee County, Michigan.
