ARMENTROUT SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT Criteria for Selection: *Full-time undergraduate *Teacher education major *Minimum GPA 2.80 *Demonstrates potential and motivation for teaching BARE-WADE SCHOLARSHIP Criteria for Selection: *Demonstrated commitment to education *Demonstrated good moral character VIRGINIA RUTH BARNES SCHOLARSHIP Criteria for Selection: *Undergraduate *Minimum GPA 3.0 on 4.0 Scale *Demonstrated commitment to teach at elementary, middle school, or secondary level in the area of personal health and nutrition CLAUDIUS AND KATHERINE EARNEST CLEMMER ENDOWMENT Criteria for Selection: *Priority given to Tennessee Residents *Junior, Senior, or Graduate in Teacher Education *2.8 GPA or above *Demonstrated financial need considered *Show potential for successful teaching career

2 NIC AND JENNY CLEMMER COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ENDOWMENT Criteria for Selection: *Undergraduate *High school graduate of Kingsport City Schools *Working on degree in Clemmer College of Education *Minimum GPA 3.0 *Graduate *Currently employed in Kingsport City School system *Working on further teaching credentials or graduate degree in Clemmer College of Education *Minimum GPA 3.5 LAUREN COLE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Criteria for Selection: *Declared major in Parks & Recreation Management *Must be a Senior *Must have a demonstrated commitment to community service *Must submit a short essay on the combined topics: Parks & Recreation 1) Why is it important? 2) What I plan to do with my degree? *Must have a 3.0 GPA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT Criteria for Selection: *Must be a Tennessee student *Must be an elementary or secondary education major *Must have a 3.0 GPA SARA J. GOODIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Criteria for Selection: *Possess a baccalaureate degree with an Arts and Sciences major which is also a state approved teacher education program at ETSU *3.2 undergraduate GPA *Two of the four recommendations must be from faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences

3 HARLEY-McCLASKEY SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT Criteria for Selection: *Undergraduate *Declared minor in Leadership Studies *Completed 3 required courses in the Leadership Minor *Overall 3.0 GPA *Completed the Leadership in Service Project through the Leadership Minor E.E. & MARGARET JOHNSON HAWKINS MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT FUND Criteria for Selection: *Minimum 2.6 GPA on all High School work (if entering freshman) *2.6 GPA on all college work (transfer and ETSU students) *Preparing to teach at elementary or secondary levels *Must complete full load each semester to qualify for subsequent semester award *Possesses strong potential for completing degree requirements and having a successful career in education *Must be a graduate of a high school in Washington, Carter, Unicoi, Sullivan, Greene, or Johnson Counties L. SCOTT HONAKER SCHOLARSHIP AWARD Criteria for Selection: *Candidate must be nominated by a committee made up of a member from each College of Education department *Must be a graduate student *Emphasis will be given to students graduate academic record; undergraduate GPA is reviewed but is of lesser importance *Promise of future contribution to teacher profession PATRICIA LEE THROWER HUFFER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION Criteria for Selection: *Must be an undergraduate major *Must be admitted to the teacher education program in early childhood education

4 JOAN BRANDON HULL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Criteria for Selection: *Must be an undergraduate or graduate education major *Preference given to students from Greene County *Must have a 2.8 GPA on high school or college work *$1,000 per student if funds are available, otherwise College of Education will determine awards NELLE JESSEE SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT Criteria for Selection: *Need Based *Minimum GPA 2.5 MABLE CLAIR LIGON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Criteria for Selection: *3.0 GPA: Undergraduate, 3.5 GPA: Graduate *For Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate Students must be full-time *Major: Undergraduate: Elementary or Secondary Teacher Education, with low priority given to P.E., Music, and Art Graduate: Counseling (Community Agency) *Priority: Female Student, if all applicants are equal *Demonstrate potential for success as a teacher or counselor MILITARY ORDER OF THE PURPLE HEART Criteria for Selection: *Mini grant presented to Special Education student *Mini grant for faculty or student for research in the Child Study Center *Mini grant for training opportunities to regular and special educators in rural settings RUDY MILLER/FLOYD EDWARDS SCHOLARSHIP Criteria for Selection: *Graduate Students in Media Services/Instructional Technology or Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis *Minimum GPA 3.0 * Documented financial need

PALMER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT Criteria for Selection: *Declared major in Education or Education Media *Priority residents of North Carolina or Tennessee *3.0 GPA on all high school courses *Must be full-time student PHI DELTA KAPPA SCHOLARSHIP Criteria for Selection: *Junior or Senior *Minimum of 3.0 GPA *Restricted to chapter geographic area *Demonstrated financial need *Recipient selected by Phi Delta Kappa Committee HATTIE ELIZABETH VANOVER REED MEMORIAL APPALACHIAN SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT Criteria for Selection: *Resident of Appalachian region *Working on degree in Clemmer College of Education

6 JACK RHOTON SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FOR SCIENCE AND MATH EDUCATION Criteria for Selection: *Plan to become a formal or informal math or science educator *Junior or senior *Majoring in one of the STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) programs *Minimum GPA 3.0 *Brief statement detailing plans to use math and/or science in future career or profession *Preference to students residing in Scott County, VA SUSAN ROARK RAMSEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Criteria for Selection: *Graduating senior from Greeneville High School or a Greene County HS *Accepted for Admission to ETSU *Plan to major in a program in the Clemmer College of Education *GPA of 2.8 or higher *ACT score of 21 or higher LLOYD T. AND WINIFRED ROBERTS MEMORIAL FUND Criteria for Selection: *Must be a Physical Education (K-12) major *2.5 GPA *Junior, Senior, or Graduate student *Financial need considered LOUISE SKALKO SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT Criteria for Selection: *Preference given to students with disabilities, especially the hearing impaired *Declared Media Service major in Instructional Technology or Special Education major (undergraduate or graduate) *Financial need considered *Must be full-time *2.8 undergraduate GPA Recipient selected by Department of Curriculum & Instruction, Director of Media Services and the Office of Disability Services
