1 Mid-State Technical College Foundation is pleased to announce the following scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors planning to pursue an academic program at Marshfield, Stevens Point or Wisconsin Rapids Campuses, or the Adams County Center in August Mid-State Technical College Foundation Scholarship (Up to $1,250) To students accepted in any Associate Degree or Technical Diploma program. (Students nominated by their high school for the Wisconsin Technical Excellence Scholarship are not eligible to receive this award. Check with your high school guidance office to determine nomination.) Leonard & Lillian Bethke Transportation Scholarship One full-tuition up to $10,000 To Automotive Technician or Diesel & Heavy Equipment Technician program students. Karen S. Bingham Memorial Scholarship $250 for one year To students accepted in any program, registered for a minimum 9 credits, and have a documented disability. Jeanne Bushman Memorial Scholarship $250 for one year To Assumption High School graduates accepted in an Associate Degree or Technical Diploma program, attending any Mid- State location, registered for a minimum 6 credits. Scott Dean Memorial Scholarship $500 to a full-time student for one year; $250 to a part-time student for one year To students enrolled in the welding program. Allen Spencer Memorial Scholarship $250 for one year To graduates of Assumption, Lincoln, Nekoosa, or Port Edwards High Schools who are accepted and enrolled in Mid-State s Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement program. Full-time enrollment given preference, but not required. Student must have demonstrated good class attendance (transcript; counselor evaluation). Application Procedures 1. Complete the admissions procedure at Mid-State for August 2016 program enrollment. 2. Attach a transcript of your high school records. All transcript GPAs must be calculated on a 4.0 scale to be eligible. 3. Attach test scores (ACT, Accuplacer, or other college entrance exam test scores). 4. While applying for financial aid is not a requirement for receiving a scholarship, it is recommended you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form if you wish to have your scholarship application based on financial need. 5 Academic Standards 1. Scholarships are paid in two equal disbursements (one in fall of 2016 and one in spring of 2017) totaling the award listed above (unless prorated). 2. To remain eligible for the second disbursement, recipients must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and successfully complete 70% of the courses for which they register each semester. 3. Recipients must remain in good disciplinary standing with Mid-State Technical College. Deadline The Mid-State Technical College Foundation must receive all completed scholarship applications by March 4, All applicants will be notified by April 8, 2016 of whether receiving an award.
