5 Etanolix - Idea of the dispersed ethanol production Farm 1. CO 2 aware bioethanol is produced from process residue and/or waste in Etanolix unit. Process Residue Side streams from Etanolix is used as animal feed, liquid fertilizer or solid fuel 3 Etanolix 4 5 Site 3. The 85% bioethanol is delivered for water removal in a centralised dehydration unit 4. Fuel grade ethanol is blended with gasoline components (low or high blend) Dehydration Terminal 5. Fuel is distributed to sold from service stations

7 Dehydration of ethanol Ethanol produced in Etanolix - ja Bionolix -units, is centrally dehydrated in our Hamina absolutation plant Annual capacity 88 Mio liters of 99,8 % ethanol St1 has been building a network of ethanol plants across Finland since 2007 with the goal to produce around 300,000 m3 of ethanol for traffic fuel use from waste and process residue by 2020
