With a field study, we use proprietary data containing about 1,400 recently released movies and three sources of publicly available data sources to extend Eliashberg and Shugan s (1997) article. New Product Development. Fall 2005 Present. This project-based course is an elective for marketing majors and previously was one of three required courses for Entrepreneurship majors. Recent student teaching evaluations of instructor = (5-point scale). Marketing Research. Fall 2009 Present. This project-based course has between students and involves the design and implementation of a marketing research study using SPSS and qualitative research methods. Student evaluations of instructor range between University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Principles of Marketing. I was responsible for teaching between 500 and 700 students per semester with between 300 and 700 per section. In addition, I was responsible for hiring, coordinating, managing, and evaluating 5 to 12 teaching assistants each semester. This course had substantial technology support including several World Wide Web sites. Student teaching evaluations of instructor range from 3.9 to 4.4 (5-point scale). I received four teaching awards at Illinois. Kansas State University Undergraduate Marketing Management capstone undergraduate marketing course. Business Marketing. Sales Management. Graduate Advanced Marketing Management (1997, 1998).

Guest Lecturer Michigan State University ( ): New Product Development and Management MBA Class; Marketing Strategy; Quantitative Research Business Methods; Packaging Senior Seminar and Package Development. Executive Education Sprint, Kansas City, KS. (1997, 1999). Developed marketing strategy course and instructed groups of high-potential Sprint finance employees. This 9-week course was taught in conjunction with Sprint managers and executives. First Savings Bank, Manhattan, KS (1999). Developed a marketing course for bank managers and front-line service providers on building customer relationships, the formation of customer satisfaction. TranSwitch Corp., Shelton, CT (2002) (through the University of Illinois Executive Development Center). Led a group of about 15 mid-to-upper managers through a marketing computer simulation. One key aspect of this 6-week course was the instruction and administration of a multi-week marketing simulation. Developed strategic marketing course and instructed group of about 25 high to top-level managers. I received the 2 nd highest teaching evaluations out of 7 UI faculty members. I traveled to Warsaw, Poland to teach the core marketing course in the University of Illinois Warsaw University Executive MBA program (which is the top-rated EMBA program in Poland). Ixia Corp.
