12 12 en Product Descrpton VIP X1600 M4S 3.3 Overvew of Functons Network Vdeo Encoder The VIP X1600 M4S encoder module s a network vdeo server for up to four ndependent vdeo channels. It s prmarly desgned for encodng vdeo and control data for transfer over an IP network. The audo verson of the module also allows the transmsson of audo sgnals to compatble unts. The use of exstng networks means that ntegraton wth CCTV systems or local networks can be acheved quckly and easly. The module offers a 2/3 D1 or 2CIF resoluton at a complete mage rate of 25 (PAL) or 30 (NTSC) mages per second for up to four channels. Vdeo mages from a sngle sender can be receved smultaneously on multple recevers. The VIP X1600 M4S encoder module s desgned for nstallaton n the VIP X1600 XF base. Installng the unts s a quck and easy operaton that does not requre any addtonal tools. All modules are hot swappable and can be exchanged whle the system s runnng. Recever Compatble MPEG-4 enabled hardware decoders (for example the VIP XD) can be used as recevers. Computers wth decodng software such as VIDOS or computers wth the Mcrosoft Internet Explorer Web browser can also be used as recevers. Vdeo Encodng The VIP X1600 M4S encoder module uses the MPEG-4 vdeo compresson standard. Thanks to effcent encodng, the data rate remans low even wth hgh mage qualty and can also be adapted to local condtons wthn wde lmts. Dual Streamng Dual Streamng allows the ncomng data stream to be encoded smultaneously accordng to two dfferent, ndvdually customzed profles. Ths feature creates two data streams that can serve dfferent purposes, for example one for recordng and one optmzed for lve transmsson over the LAN. Multcast In sutably confgured networks, the multcast functon enables smultaneous real-tme vdeo transmsson to multple recevers. The UDP and IGMP V2 protocols must be mplemented on the network for ths functon. Encrypton The VIP X1600 M4S encoder module offers a varety of optons for protecton aganst unauthorzed readng. Web browser connectons can be protected usng HTTPS. You can protect the control channels va the SSL encrypton protocol. Wth an addtonal lcense, the user data tself can be encrypted. 13 VIP X1600 M4S Product Descrpton en 13 Remote Control For remote control of external unts such as pan or tlt heads for cameras or motorzed zoom lenses, control data s transmtted va the module's bdrectonal seral nterface. Ths nterface can also be used to transmt transparent data. Tamper Detecton and Moton Detectors The VIP X1600 M4S encoder module offers a wde range of confguraton optons for alarm sgnalng n the event of tamperng wth the connected camera. An algorthm for detectng movement n the vdeo mage s also part of the scope of delvery and can optonally be extended to nclude specal vdeo analyss algorthms. Snapshots Indvdual vdeo frames (snapshots) can be called up as JPEG mages, stored on the computer's hard drve or dsplayed n a separate browser wndow. Backup A functon for storng the vdeo mages dsplayed on the hard drve of your computer s avalable on the LIVEPAGE as well as on the RECORDINGS page. Vdeo sequences can be stored by means of a mouse clck and can be redsplayed usng the Player suppled as part of the scope of delvery of the base. I-frame dstance Ths parameter allows you to set the ntervals n whch the I-frames wll be coded. 0 means auto mode, whereby the vdeo server nserts I-frames as necessary. An entry of 1 ndcates that I-frames are contnuously generated.
