2 Corporate Earth Day Events theme: Ripple Effect Invitation from the : EarthShare NC invites you to join us in celebrating Earth Day 2016 with a program that integrates corporate interest in the health of the community, team-building for employees and service to benefit the nonprofits that care for our natural resources every day. The Corporate Earth Day Events program was launched in 2015 in the Triangle. The pictures in these pages tell the story: the events were fun, engaging and beneficial to the participating businesses, the local nonprofits and the natural environment we share. I hope you will join us in launching the Corporate Earth Day Events program in Charlotte this year. As an Earth Day Events Sponsor, your employees will have fun getting their hands dirty, working hard to make a tangible impact in the community and building stronger relationships as a team. You will have opportunities to connect with other businesses who value corporate social responsibility, demonstrate your commitment to the environment and get to know local conservation leaders. 3 Corporate Challenge Thursday April 7, 2016 sites in Charlotte & surrounding areas We will match your employee team with a hands-on volunteer project in the Charlotte area and coordinate logistics to provide a fun, valuable team-building opportunity. The Corporate Challenge is a win-win-win: employees have a blast working together outside the office, EarthShare NC nonprofits accomplish projects with your help and we all benefit from keeping this a great place to live and work. The Challenge is also a friendly competition for the Participation, Teamwork and Corporate Challenge Awards. Judges will look for teamwork, enthusiasm, work ethic, goals accomplished and more to select the winners of the coveted hand blown glass awards--made by a local artist just for EarthShare NC. Without this event, the Friends of the Mountains to Sea Trail and the folks at G&S Communications would never have met. This was a good vehicle to connect the nonprofit and business sectors. -David Bland, Friends of Mountains to Sea Trail 10 teams. 6 sites. 3 hours. 600 trees planted. 100 flowers planted. 50 pounds of grass seed planted. 14K sq ft weeded Corporate Challenge Results 500 lbs trash picked up. 65 ft long wall built. 37 ft fencing installed 1 mile stream cleaned. 300 feet fabric hung. 90 pounds recycling gathered. 1/8 mile trail blazed. After Party April 7th following the Challenge Location TBD Join your colleagues and other Corporate Challenge teams at the After Party to mingle, play games and share what you accomplished. You bring your muddy sneakers and stories, we ll bring the food, drinks and prizes!
