1 CHANGING LIVES AND IMPROVING THE COMMUNITY THROUGH INNOVATION On May 18, 2015, Women s Fund of Hawai i will host its 10th Annual Tea & Champagne event. It is a fun-filled evening of fundraising and networking that features special tea, champagne, and delicious heavy pupu. In addition to the much-anticipated Dessert Dash, Women s Fund of Hawai i will utilize new fundraising software that enables guests to raise funds and awareness. We invite you to join us by sponsoring this technology (and dessert)-driven social media networking event. In keeping with Women s Fund of Hawai i s culture of creative and collaborative work, this event will utilize a peer-to-peer fundraising tool and proven social media networking to increase donations and awareness. Sponsoring a charitable event with a strong social media component provides an unmatched opportunity for companies to expand their reach, introduce an idea or product, and further engage with the community. ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION When women thrive, families and communities flourish. While many women are doing well in Hawaiì, far too many women and girls in our state are not doing well. Inequality in Hawaii is pervasive. Programs to help women and girls exist, but many such programs do not have sufficient funding. They, like the women and girls they serve, receive inequitable resources. This lack of funding for women s and girls programs is not limited to Hawaii; throughout the country as a whole, it has been documented that programs serving women and girls receive only 6-8 percent of all philanthropic dollars. WOMEN S FUND OF HAWAIÌ was founded to provide funding to organizations serving women and girls. We are working towards a day when all women and girls in Hawaiì are safe, financially secure and empowered to participate fully in their communities. 2 Tea & Champagne will use Swell Fundraising software to expand its donor network. The cornerstone of the Swell platform begins with the Tea & Champagne website. The site helps us create a shared experience between attendees and online guests. This experience includes an interactive conversation supported by Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; and Leaderboards displaying the Top Fundraiser, Top Social Media Recruiter and Top Table. This event site is displayed during the event and serves as a central focus for activity and entertainment. THE DIFFERENCE: Swell s software solution enables the event to reach beyond the walls of the venue by creating a live, crowd funding event where attendees share donation links, photos and posts to raise funds and win the party. By using this software, Women s Fund of Hawai i will redefine the boundaries of an event s reach. THE TOOL: Swell fundraising software (1) Incorporates real-time Twitter, Instagram and Facebook feeds; (2) Manages Event Ticketing and Donations (on site with ipad application and online through the web); and (3) Creates a friendly, crowd funding competition by tracking and displaying attendee fundraising and social media reach on Leaderboards.
