Developed Exploring Math and Science Academy, Oklahoma Regents funded summer program. Received Oklahoma City Public Schools Perfect Partner Award for ongoing support of the school district. Developed and implemented a community STEM Conference to raise awareness of STEM in underserved communities. Dean of Student Development St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley 10/95 03/06 1
2 Served as Chief Student Affairs Officer for 7,000+-student campus with responsibility for the operation of a division with over 100 full and part-time employees and an annual budget in excess of $7,000,000. Also responsible for student discipline and conduct, and special projects. Operational oversight of nine units: Academic Support Services (Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction), Accessibility Services (Disability Services), Advising, Athletics (National Junior College Athletics, Intramurals), Campus Life (Student Activities, Service Learning, First Year Experience, Student Retention and Transition), Career and Employment Services, Counseling (TANF Support), Health Services, and Student Support Services. Served as the affirmative action/equity officer for the campus. Managerial responsibility of the Student Center campus bookstore, campus dining, auditorium, student government offices. Oversaw the development of community outreach programs and initiatives, development and administration of grants (Americorps, Student Support Services, National Youth Sports Program, GEARUP, Summer Food Program and other grants). Developed community youth program 21 st Century Youth Development Program that involved fourteen municipalities in North St. Louis County. Directed the operation of the National Youth Sports Program on campus which engaged over 400 area youth, ages 10-16, in an academic and athletic summer program. Responsible for the development and implementation of GEARUP and Student Support Services grants two of the largest grants received by STLCC. Oversaw the complete renovation of the Student Center a multi-million dollar project. Oversaw the development and implementation of a successful service learning program. Chief of Staff to the President Bunker Hill Community College, Boston, MA 6/93 10/95 Assisted the President in overseeing the administration of a 6,000 student, 300-employee institution with a $20,000,000 budget. Supervised the development and completion of required reports from the College to various external organizations. Investigated complaints on behalf of the President. Represented the President at internal/external meetings and functions. Completed the development and implementation of a revised institutional policies/procedures and human resource system. Directed the implementation of a new information technology infrastructure at the College. Oversaw development of successful Title III grant submission. 2
