1 Victoria Haffer FITNESS DIRECTOR Victoria Haffer comes to The Kingsbury Club with over 25 years of experience in the Fitness Industry, with a Masters Degree from Bridgewater State College in Exercise Science. She brings to The Kingsbury Club much practical management experience from many successful health clubs in the Boston area. As a Certification Specialist through AFAA and FRA, Victoria has certified hundreds of Personal Trainers and Group Exercise Instructors internationally. She also certifies Yoga Teachers through Finding Inner Peace Yoga school and has taught as an Adjunct Professor at Bridgewater State and Mount Ida College. She is a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Nutritionist, Reiki Master and Yoga Therapist. Using these skills she works with clients facilitating change through the mind, body, spirit connection.
2 Dave Emrich HEAD TRAINER PRO TRAINER Dave is an A.C.E. Certified Personal Trainer. A Massachusetts native with a lifelong interest in the Fitness Industry, Dave specializes in Nutrition and Natural Fitness with extensive training in the use of Physio-ball and Sports Specific Training for the athlete. Known for the quality of his personal training whether it's setting new goals or challenging a client with a new exercise Dave gives 100% of his attention to all of his clients. Dave is currently working towards a B.S. in Exercise Physiology.
3 Monica Billard PRO TRAINER Monica began working in the fitness industry in She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training and a Master of Science degree in Health, Sport, and Fitness Management. She worked for more than 12 yrs. in Boston at The Boston Racquet Club in various roles including ACE/ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Director, and Assistant General Manager. Monica has worked as a practicum faculty member instructing candidates preparing for the ACSM Health/Fitness Instructor certification. Monica also has an athletic background having participated competitively in sports such as volleyball, basketball, crew, soccer, softball, golf, triathlons, and road races. She enjoys working with all ages and fitness levels and believes when we take care of ourselves we make a positive contribution to the world.
4 Carol Kinan PERSONAL TRAINER Carol is an ACSM certified personal trainer and a WFAA certified water fitness instructor. She has always had a passion for fitness and enjoyed a healthy lifestyle. She previously worked for the YMCA and for two exclusive women s fitness centers. She enjoys working with people of all ages and believes that anyone can find a way to exercise and feel better no matter what fitness level they're at. Carol has a positive attitude and loves to inspire and motivate others to be the best they can be!
5 Toni Clark PERSONAL TRAINER Toni is an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor (since 1994) and ACE Certified Personal Trainer (since 1999). She has been teaching and training as a Fitness Professional for 15 years at a variety of health clubs across New England and in Berlin, Germany. She is certified in a number of specialty formats, including Aqua Fitness, Step Aerobics, Cardio Kickboxing, Spinning, Strength Training, Bosu, Urban Rebounding, Resist-A-Ball, Mat Pilates, Reebok Core Training, Yoga, Pre/Postnatal Exercise Specialist, and Weight Management Consultant. Toni has a passion for fitness ( It s got to be fun and effective! ). She sees a strong connection between physical and mental health and draws upon her background as a psychotherapist to motivate, coach and bring out individual potential. Toni seeks to bring physical fitness to people of all ages and stages and loves the challenge of creatively helping clients incorporate their personal preferences into routines and life style changes that will allow them to meet their goals. Toni offers individualized fitness assessments (incl. body composition, strength, flexibility, cardio fitness, etc.) to help clients track their progress.
6 Bob Donahue PERSONAL TRAINER Bob is an ACSM certified personal trainer. Personally dedicated to fitness through regular exercise and nutrition, Bob believes that time and effort spent on fitness will have a great, positive and lasting impact on the overall enjoyment of what life has to offer. Bob caught the fitness bug in 1990 while rehabbing from a back injury. Through many hours in the gym he has become familiar with several modes of resistance and cardio training, allowing him to keep workouts interesting and challenging. Bob will systematically assess your current fitness level in order to design an exercise program that will help you achieve your goals. Regular exercise and responsible eating habits are KEY! My goal is to share what I ve learned and benefited from, so that others may reach their potential.
7 Corinne Poore PERSONAL TRAINER Corinne is a dedicated fitness professional. She is an A.F.A.A. Certified Aerobic Instructor and an F.R.A. Personal Trainer. She maintains these qualifications by continuing a regiment of ongoing study and by attending related workshops. Corinne specializes in Pre/Post Natal Fitness and Senior Fitness. She has the ability to work well with people of all ages and fitness levels. As a fitness trainer, she feels that it s important to understand the client s goals and provide knowledge, motivation, and an individual exercise program in order to help them achieve those goals. Her personal goal is to help people become healthier, happier, and to improve the overall quality of their life.
8 Val Sanderson PRO TRAINER Val is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and FRA. She is highly motivated and passionate about her profession in the fitness industry. Val will design a fitness program tailored to suit your needs and reflect your fitness goals. She also brings a strong tennis background, which has helped our tennis members realize the importance of cross training. Val was recently selected to be a personal fitness trainer on the MTV show Made. Because of her ability to work well with people of all ages, she has expanded our youth and adult programs at the club. Her variety of classes including six-pack attack, muscle mix, and boot camp, appeal to men and women of all ages. Val is a role model to all of our members!
9 Steve Sarney PERSONAL TRAINER Steve has been in the fitness industry for over 13 years. He is a Certified Personal Trainer through FRA and AFAA. He works with a wide range of clientele from beginners to athletes, specializing in sports specific training. Fitness is a big part of Steve s lifestyle and his personal belief is that a healthy mind and healthy body can lead to not only a longer life but a better quality one as well.
10 Stella Sawyer PRO TRAINER Stella is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Personal Trainer and by A.F.A.A. as an Aerobics and groups fitness instructor. Stella has over 20 years of continuous experience in all phases of physical fitness. Her personally designed "Wellness through Fitness Program" encompasses all age groups and has benefitted many clubs and organizations throughout the South Shore. Her goal has always been to help everyone "be the best they can be" by demonstrating her expertise, dedication, enthusiasm and ability to motivate others.
11 Alex Stewart PERSONAL TRAINER Alex is ISSA Certified in both Personal Training and Nutrition. Currently, Alex is majoring in both Exercise Science and Finance at Bridgewater State College. Alex devotes most of his free time to either working out or reading fitness-related publications to enhance his ability to improve both his physique and better communicate professional knowledge to his clients. Alex believes that health and fitness are the foundation for a quality life. A healthy mind and body can improve a person s life considerably. It is never too late to become more healthy and fit. Alex would appreciate the opportunity to guide you to achieve a healthy life-style. Alex recently competed in the BLNPA Competitive Natural Bodybuilder competition where he was the Junior Division Winner, the Light Weight Novice Winner and the Novice Overall Winner.
12 Kim Sweeney PRO TRAINER Kim has been affiliated with fitness and bodybuilding since her high school sports days. Her formal activities began when she trained and successfully competed in the WNBF from 1992 until She is an AFAA certified Personal Trainer and has been actively providing one-on-one training and rehabilitative injury therapy since Kim is also a certfied Yoga Teacher through Fitness Resource Associates. Kim s dynamic approach is obvious in assisting student body builders, fitness enthusiasts or rehabilitative patients. Kim's passion for all sports has helped her clients find the "champion" within themselves!
13 Anne Canny Wargo PERSONAL TRAINER Anne has been an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certified group fitness instructor since She also holds certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) for Personal Training as well as the National Cardio Kickboxing Association, the American Heart Association (CPR/AED) and is working on her certification from the United States Water Fitness Association. Anne has been Personal Training for more than five years practicing a fitness philosophy of mind, body and spirit connection. She feels fortunate to have established a substantial and diverse clientele. She works with clients one-on-one in the water and on the fitness floor. She has found Personal Training to be extremely rewarding as she continues to contribute to her clients successful achievement of their fitness goals. She has been at the Kingsbury Club since April of 2005 and has formed a genuine rapport with her clients. She has over six years of Group Fitness experience at various clubs including the Kingsbury Club, the Manchester Athletic Club, the Ipswich Country Club and both the North Shore and Ipswich YMCAs. Her experience includes class instruction for muscle conditioning, step, aqua fitness, cardio kickboxing and traditional boxing. Anne is a former gymnast and an active sportsperson who loves tennis, golf, running and biking. She has trained for many years with a professional boxer's trainer, a martial artist and a World Champion Kickboxer. In addition to Personal Training, she teaches aqua fitness classes, kickboxing and is currently training for her first triathlon scheduled for July of 2008.
14 John Scorza PRO TRAINER John is a physician specializing in Family Practice for over 25 years. Before receiving his M.D. degree at State University of New York, he graduated from Fordham University with a B.S. and M.S. in Human Physiology. He has been a competitive athlete for most of his adult life. He does research in human physiology and energy production in both the athletic environment and bodybuilding. He continues to compete as an age ranked athlete in marathons and Sprint and Ironman distance triathlons. John is a Mad Dogg Level II certified spin instructor as well as an ACSM certified personal trainer. His focus is individual conditioning, bodybuilding, and sport specific muscular development. He includes nutritional counseling, post injury recovery, and exercise education as part of his client s personal training program. I have a very simple goal -- I want people to feel good, look good and take a bigger slice out of life.
