MKCE is a dream project and it got materialized in Although being a lover of agriculture, transport operation and poultry farming, MKCE was established with a vision to provide Technical education to rural students at an affordable cost and augment the employability among the rural students. Today it has grown and reached the first position among the engineering colleges affiliated to Anna University in the ranking published by Times of India. Regards Thiru. M. Kumarasamy Thiru M. Kumarasamy, an illustrious septuagenarian, Chairman of M. Kumarasamy College of Engineering is a philanthropist, popularly known to the people of this region as Maniyakar was a Munisif of Thalavapalayam Village for more than a score of years. During his tenure as Munisif of this village several community projects were programmed and implemented by him successfully. Chairman Thiru. M. 4 Secretary s Message... Dr. K. Ramakrishnan, son of Chairman M. Kumarasamy, a vibrant person filled with dynamism is a shining and definite role model for the budding engineers of this institution. He is a production engineer with B.E degree from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. His ardent faith in discipline and hard work has been winning him success one after the other in all his ventures. He has high aims and lofty ideals to secure a worthy place for this college amongst the renowned colleges in India and abroad. He had been a champion of TIES during his college days. Dr. K. Ramakrishnan is one of the three eminent personalities of the Anna University study team that visited the Canadian Universities in His matchless interest in imparting quality - engineering education elevated the college to a prominent position among the several engineering colleges in Tamilnadu. MKCE may have a rural background but the products of MKCE are technically sound engineers and eminent managers. The vision of creating a hub of technocrats was accomplished and along with the growth of the institution we were able to produce managers for this competitive world. Valavan is a seasoned academician, having more than 25 years of experience. He obtained his B.E. (Mechanical Engineering) from Shanmugha College of Engineering, T h a n j a v u r, M. Te c h. ( E n e r g y Conservation & Management) from School of Energy, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli and Ph.D. from National Institute of Technology (REC), Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. He was a member of Board of Studies of Bharathidasan University and a member of Academic Council of SASTRA University. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education. 6 Director s Message... Dr.S.Kuppusamy took up his career in academics out of his passion for the profession and his commitment combined with zeal for success elevated him to this position. He did his bachelor's degree in Electronics at Erode Arts College, Erode and Master's degree in Business Administration at Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai and Ph.D in Management at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. He was a member of Board of Studies, Inspection Commission for grant of Affiliation and Senate of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. In addition to his academic activities he offered consultancy services for various organizations in ISO Certification process. His emotional stability coupled with decision making and leadership skills have paved the way for his success in academic administration. Management Studies took its first step in the year 2007, since then MKCE has been emphasizing on the enhancement of the quality of managers produced. They are imparted with knowledge from academicians as well as industry experts to understand the real needs of the competitive world. The challenge of providing quality education in rural vicinity on par with urban society is achieved along these years by MKCE. 8 About MKCE: M.Kumarasamy College of Engineering (M.K.C.E) was established in the year 2000 by M.Kumarasamy Health and Educational Trust with a vision to provide technical education for all sections of the society. It has made rapid strides on all fronts to achieve academic excellence in a short span of time. The College has earned a remarkable position in the field of technical education through the untiring efforts of the visionary management, competent faculty members and stupendous students. The college has been conferred with Autonomous status from the year The 2012 passed out students obtained 160 university ranks to make the college attain 3rd position in the state.
