4 bachelor of science - animation Programme code - 003A Course code - A7 Animation derives its name from the Latin word, 'Anima' or 'the art of breathing life into a character'. Animation today is metamorphosing into a serious career option with endless possibilities and applications is the result of what began merely as a leisure pursuit. The Indian Animation industry is growing at a very rapid pace and many international and Hollywood projects have at least a part of it made here. India has become an animation-outsourcing hub and has made its mark for its skilled artists and quality work. The Indian AVGC sector today is receiving a lot of support and assistance from the government. Though this industry holds a lot of opportunities, there is a dearth of right talent. It takes a lot of effort, money and time for a production house to train these talents and absorb them into the production system. The need of the hour would be to create an environment for students to excel in this field and give them a platform to showcase their talent. The Bachelor of Science Animation provides an opportunity for young artists to understand the nuances of animation and filmmaking. At Jain University, we strive to provide students with the best facilities and introduce new pedagogies. The course is designed to meet the growing industry requirements and train the students in what matters the most. Students are given training right from the basic traditional animation to the sophisticated 3D animation. Visual effects and principles of film making are also a part of the curriculum.

5 Programme Objectives The primary objective of the course is to enhance the quality of creative artists in terms of their technical ability as well as their creative thought process. Students are trained to understand, evaluate and execute their creative ideas. They are also introduced to the world of film making & Visual effects, giving them an enhanced vision to encompass their creative urge. Equip students with the required technical skills and the creative bend to enable them to succeed in the animation industry. Provide students with real time training to make them competitive in the real world. Provide opportunities to effectively build on existing capabilities.
