2 About Gujarat Law Society Gujarat Law Society has been in the field of education for over a period of eight decades and is considered as one of the largest and most renowned destinations for education in Gujarat. The Society stands as a synonym for contemporary education in the region with its state-of-the-art infrastructure. Visionaries and luminaries such as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Shri Ganesh Mavlankar and Sheth Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai were the first to set lofty standards of excellence in education at the Society. Beginning from a single law college in 1927, which was nurtured, among others, by Shri I.M. Nanavati, today Gujarat Law Society has burgeoned into a mammoth Trust that manages 30 institutions offering courses in multiple disciplines imparting quality education at four campuses in Ahmedabad. At present there are over 24,000 students at the campus who are assisted in meticulously crafting their careers and leading them to the path of success. Gujarat Law Society has a particularly extensive alumni group too which echoes the values that it has imparted, right since its inception. With this in view, the Gujarat Law Society (GLS) has now promoted and sponsored the GLS University. GLS University GLS University is a statutory state private university established by an Act of Gujarat State Assembly. GLS University is set up with the vision to benchmark global standards of education and create path breaking programmes in the areas of strategic importance not only to the country but also across the world. The university is all set to initiate various innovative programmes in diverse areas of Management, Information Technology, Communications, Social Sciences, Commerce, etc. Besides the existing programmes B.Com., M.Com., BBA, MBA, BCA, MCA and B.Ed. offered by the eight institutes under the umbrella of GLS University, the University is geared up to introduce other innovative diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various upcoming disciplines. With a view to providing an impetus to research, the University intends to have research focus in its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Moreover, exclusive research degrees like M.Phil. and Ph.D. have also been introduced in various disciplines. 4 Integrated - MBA Programme (I-MBA) The School of Management at GLS University offers a 5 year (10 Semester) Integrated BBA-MBA Programme for all eligible Class XII pass-outs aspiring for a career in the field of management. On the successful completion of the 5-year Programme, the students will be awarded the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree. The students, who want to acquire only an undergraduate qualification, will have an option of getting a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree on successful completion of 3-years of this programme. This 5 year, 10 semesters, Integrated MBA Program is based on Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in order to facilitate participants to choose the subjects in the specialization of their choice. 6 Eligibility Criteria for Admission The applicant should have passed the 12th Std. or equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects of Gujarat State Board/CBSE/ICSE or any other approved board with atleast one of the following subjects in General (Commerce) or Science stream at the first attempt with 50% marks (45% for students of reserved category viz. SC/ST/SEBC/OBC) or its equivalent: (1) Mathematics (2) Physics (3) Chemistry (4) Biology (5) Statistics (6) Elements of Accountancy (7) Elements of Book-keeping For NRI Sponsored Students 1. Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination in India. 2. Candidate will have to produce a sponsorship letter from an NRI who will undertake to pay all tuition and other fees for the entire degree program. 3. Documentary evidence having NRI Status of sponsor must also be produced. 4. In case of Letter Grades/Performance Indices or Graded Point Average is awarded instead of percentage marks in qualifying examination, equivalence certificate is required from school authorities on the day of confirmation of admission. For NRI Students 1. Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination from abroad. 2. Candidate will have to produce equivalence certificate of qualifying examination from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. Admission Procedure and Norms Procure the form from the School of Management, GLS University Office. The candidate applying for admission will be given preference according to the merit list declared on basis of the result of the HSC examination. The School will display the set of merit lists for General Category Quota as well as applicable Reserved Category Quota on the specified date. The subsequent merit list will also be displayed as per the schedule of admission decided by the School. An eligible applicant will be given admission according to his/her rank in the relevant Merit List and the availability of seat for I-MBA. Candidates from other boards than Gujarat Board will have to obtain Provisional Eligibility Certificate from GLS University. GLS University reserves the right to make any exception in the above rules framed without any notice. However, in case of doubt, if any, of interpretation of any clause, the decision of the University authority will be final.

The duration of each semester is around 16 weeks. a) First Year & Second year: In first two years, each semester has 7 courses equivalent to 23 credits. All 28 courses during these two years are core subjects to impart the knowledge on the basics of management. b) Third Year: In the third year, there will be compulsory courses as well as elective courses. As the school will have Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), students will be able to decide the elective subjects of their choice along with compulsory subjects in each semester. The elective subject(s) will be offered from three different areas namely, Marketing, Finance and Human Resource. Upon completion of third year, the student would be eligible for BBA degree. c) The Fourth Year and Fifth Year (Semester VII, VIII, IX, X) lead to the completion of MBA programme. The course will have curriculum design as per the MBA programme offered by GLS University.
