An easy thing to say, but IT professionals are under pressure to deliver continuous improvements in efficiency and response time while budgets get tighter. And these aren't the only problems faced by today's CIO. On-line services and mobile-friendly apps are an essential element in satisfying the evolving demands of end-users, customers and partners. Needs and priorities change ever more rapidly. The CIO's job has to be about more than simply ensuring infrastructure uptime, managing system and network patches and updates. The value-added CIO understands the need to work in partnership with line-of-business functions, protecting business-critical data and applications to support key business processes using the most reliable, cost-effective infrastructure solutions. Flexibility and agility are the keywords, at every level of the enterprise.
