5 A PROVEN PARTNERSHIP HELPING CUSTOMERS COMPUTACENTER INTRODUCES A COMPANY-WIDE UNIFIED, HIGH PERFORMANCE INFORMATION SECURITY INFRASTRUCTURE Europe s leading independent provider of IT infrastructure services is replacing a fragmented landscape of Symantec Endpoint Protection and other endpoint security technologies with a single deployment of the latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection to support the company s enterprise-wide virtualisation strategy. The implementation - which included testing the latest Endpoint Protection functionality in a lab environment prior to deployment - has enabled Computacenter to reduce time and effort of security administration, boost scanning performance by 50 per cent, and ensure the entire infrastructure is free and safe from threats. Importantly, it only took a couple of minutes for the Symantec Platinum Partner to uninstall the other incumbent endpoint security solutions from each client and install the new Endpoint Protection, further boosting productivity and security efficiency. FAST AND RELIABLE BACKUP: When Computacenter helped a local council design and implement a new datacenter environment based on a virtual platform, it needed to ensure that systems and data would be highly available. The project therefore included the deployment of Symantec NetBackup, which enables a faster backup window than traditional Ethernet backup and prevents disruption to other network-based activities. SECURE ACCESS TO SYSTEMS: Computacenter helped a utilities company deploy a range of Symantec solutions, including Symantec AntiVirus, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec Endpoint Encryption and Symantec Enterprise Vault, as part of a virtual desktop implementation for 5,000 employees in the UK. As a result of the project, staff will have mobile and secure access to corporate systems and data to enable them to work from any location.
