Open Internet Exchange Initiative - USA Historically internet exchanges have been operated by colocation providers The Open Internet Exchange initiative is an attempt to bring the European model (participant managed, neutral) to the wider USA market Digital Realty is partnering with Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-iX) to establish an exchange in its New York Data Centre and make this available to its entire USA customer portfolio 7
