We are able to access this technology through our partnership with the Metro Atlanta Chamber and CareerRise Through this technology, we are able to determine the most in-demand occupations, skill sets, educational requirements, certifications and more for many different geographies. For this snapshot, we will focus on the Atlanta MSA.
3 Looking Into The Burning Glass Reflective of the new economy, Software Developer is the most in-demand occupation in Metro Atlanta, ranking in the top 10 of all MSAs in total postings. The majority of these jobs require at least a bachelor s degree. The second most in-demand occupation in metro Atlanta is Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers, an old economy job that is still very much in demand. Only 23 percent of Truck Driving job postings require a college degree. Over the past 12 months, there have been 266,000 postings that require at least a Bachelor s degree and 198,000 postings that require an Associate s Degree or less.

We are able to see, however, that there is a wide spectrum of job openings among the top four occupations in metro Atlanta that will be discussed later.
