About the Symposium The Southwest OB-GYN Ultrasound Symposium offers advanced ultrasound topics for both physicians and sonographers who perform or interpret ob-gyn ultrasound exams. A superb faculty has been assembled to present the current state-of-the-art methods. This course emphasizes 3-dimensional ultrasound including applications of real-time 3-D fetal echocardiography, confirmation of normal anatomy, detection/ interpretation of facial and other fetal anomalies, use of parental-initiated 3-D ultrasound, and gyn applications of 3-D ultrasound in evaluation of the pelvis and uterus. Screening for fetal anomalies and chromosome abnormalities in both the first and second trimesters is also highlighted. Other topics include interesting cases, ultrasound evaluation of syndromes, borderline ultrasound findings, new concepts in twin pregnancies, and modern management of twin complications. Panel discussions will ensure that questions and controversial areas will be addressed. This course meets the criteria for 19 credit hours in Category 1 CME. ACOG application pending.
