MDK Multifuctioal Digital Commuicatios System The Multifuctioal Digital Commuicatios System is a cetrally cotrolled voice commuicatios system that has bee desiged to fulfil all audio applicatios. The MDK serves as the cetral exchage for itercom, public address (PA), emergecy call ad telecommuicatios fuctios. The MDK ca be used for all such applicatios i idustry ad public trasport, icludig those that require the highest reliability ad safety stadards. Complex Applicatios The modularly desiged commuicatios system is ideally suited for complex applicatios i the Railways/Public Trasport sector, as well as i the Idustrial sector. I Railways/Public Trasport systems, the MDK System fids use as a dispatcher system for commuicatios alog railway lies, ad as a voice commuicatios system i 3S cotrol cetres. I Idustry, it is used to implemet very extesive PA/itercom applicatios. Emergecy Call / Ifo Systems I additio to expectig higher safety stadards i public trasport systems, customers are also askig for more comprehesive iformatio. ms Neuma provides extesive emergecy call ad iformatio systems that ca be implemeted based etirely o MDK Systems. Safety i tuels has become a particularly importat issue i recet times. Special desig emergecy call systems, where the call boxes also cotai moitored fire extiguishers, ca be moitored ad cotrolled with the MDK System. Emergecy Warig System The MDK ca be modularly cofigured as a plat warig system or emergecy warig system that complies with the DIN EN 60849/ VDE 0828, Part 1 stadard. Iovative Commuicatios Exchage Structure Further features of this system are its exchage capabilities for itercom ad public address (PA) coectios. Both aalogue ad digital devices ca be coected to the MDK. The system also offers plugi modules to coect all aalogue telephoe equipmet ad existig multiparty lies to the MDK. I additio, radio system iterfaces eable it to itegrate the most commo radio ad wireless systems regardless of whether aalogue or digital. Its stadard digital iterfaces (per DSS1) eable all digital telecommuicatio termial devices to be coected to the MDK, as well as digital PABX systems. The Multifuctioal Digital Commuicatios System (MDK) The basic cofiguratio of the MDK System cosists of a base uit (exchage) that ca simultaeously switch various coectios to itercom/pa devices ad to telephoe lies. Several of these base uits located at differet sites ca also be itercoected via digital iterfaces (S2M). The termial devices of every base uit ca the be accessed from ay other uit coected to the system. Digital itercoectios via S0 ad S2M iterfaces eable telephoe coectios to be made to PABX systems from every MDK base uit. Networkig ca be implemeted either via fibre optic or copper cables (see diagram uder Network Structure later i this documet). To further esure reliable trasmissio paths, the base uits are itercoected i a rig etwork topology.
