Task 4: Cmmunicatin and Prfessinal Grwth PURPOSE: The Resident Educatr Prgram prvides fur years f nging jbembedded prfessinal develpment thrugh supprt frm and prfessinal cnversatins with State-certified instructinal mentrs and cllabratins and bservatins with veteran teachers, facilitatrs, and clleagues. In Task 4 yu are asked t reflect n these experiences t this pint in yur residency and analyze their impact n yur prfessinal prgress. WHAT YOU MUST DO: Chse examples f yur practice that illustrate yur apprach t three areas f prfessinal respnsibility: cmmunicatin with parents r caregivers, cmmunicatin and cllabratin with clleagues, and purpseful develpment f yur wn prfessinal grwth. 3

Task 5: Reflectin n Teaching Practice Based n Feedback frm Students and/r clleagues PURPOSE: In Tasks 1 4 yu were asked t analyze, discuss, and demnstrate yur understanding f and ability t implement the Teaching-Learning Cycle and reflect n the impact f these experiences n yur prfessinal prgress. In Task 5, yu will be analyzing the perceptins f thers fr the insights they can prvide int yur teaching practice and its impact. Task 5 invites yu t reflect n and synthesize what yu ve learned frm self-assessment with the understanding gained thrugh the cnfident and thughtful cnsideratin f feedback frm thers. Task 5 prvides yu with an pprtunity t lk at patterns and trends, t make discveries abut yur teaching, and t begin t plan fr next steps. WHAT YOU MUST DO: 1. Assemble feedback n yur teaching practice frm ne f tw surces. 2. Using that feedback, respnd t a set f prmpts that require yu t reflect n yur teaching practice. 3. Submit a set f written respnses t the prmpts. Please nte: Yu d nt need (nr d yu have the ptin) t submit r uplad evidence f yur feedback frm clleagues r students. The rster f survey candidates was submitted t Tripd after the Task 1 deadline in December. Hw t access: Links t student perceptin survey reprts have been distributed t thse wh administered the survey via email. If yu need help accessing that reprt, please cntact the resa@educpia.cm r the Tripd Help Desk directly. Using the survey fr the Task 5 frms: Simply refer t the survey as yur feedback surce in yur Task reflectins. Miss the survey deadline r receive an insufficient number f respnses? That s k! Yu will just need t fllw the directins beginning n page 82 f the Participant Handbk and have a clleague cmplete the alternate bservatin frm. 9
Alternate Clleague Observatin Rughly 30% f candidates will need t use the alternate clleague bservatin respnse frm as their feedback surce fr Task 5. Steps: q Select a clleague (this can be, but is nt required t be, yur facilitatr r prgram Crdinatr) t bserve yu while yu teach ne f yur classes. q Give yur selected clleague a cpy f the Tripd 7Cs Framewrk (pg. 86 f the Participant Handbk) and the bservatin frm that he r she will fill ut prir t bservatin. q Schedule the class bservatin q Have yur clleague cmplete the Observatin Respnse Frm, which is aligned with questins frm the student survey, within a timeframe that gives yu enugh time t reflect n the feedback and answer the questins in Task 5. Yu are nt required t submit this Observatin Respnse Frm in the submissin system. q Review the feedback yu received n the Observatin Respnse Frm and cmplete the nline Reflectin n Practice and Feedback Frm (Frm 5.2). 10
