Over the past 20- plus years, the Federatin has expanded its business t anticipate and respnd t the needs f its members and stakehlders, and t supprt the rganisatin s independence and viability. The Federatin prvides advice t members, gvernment and ptential partners n the best ways t expand the industry s activities and meet the highest standards f service t tenants, applicants and cmmunities. The rganisatin prvides a wide range f gd practice advice, infrmatin and resurcing t supprt members Bards f Directrs, management and staff. The rganisatin anticipates and supprts members directins and aspiratins with effective research, plicy develpment and analysis n key issues affecting the grwth f the industry, and strategies t supprt the changing business f the industry. Thrugh its Centre fr Training in Scial Husing, the Federatin delivers bth accredited training, such as frmal qualificatins in scial husing management, and tailred prfessinal develpment curses in respnse t members needs. The Federatin is a leading member f the netwrk f cmmunity husing industry peaks acrss Australia, wrking cllabratively t enhance services t members and t supprt the develpment f the industry. Purpse The Federatin s purpse is t supprt the develpment f a nt fr prfit rental husing industry which cmpares t any arund the wrld, and which makes a difference t the lives f very lw t mderate incme husehlds. Delivering the Business Plan The Federatin will deliver the Business Plan thrugh its fur business areas: The Plicy Team carries ut the cre representatin, advcacy, industry crdinatin and plicy functins f the Federatin. This includes wrking clsely with a range f stakehlders t prmte the interests f members, anticipating and supprting members directins and aspiratins with effective research and plicy develpment, and develpment f strategies t supprt grwth and diversificatin. This business area draws significant funding frm the NSW Gvernment and a significant prprtin f ur membership fees. The Service Delivery Team prvides a wide range f gd practice advice, infrmatin and resurces t supprt the Bards, management and staff f individual member rganisatins, with the aim f building prviders capacity t imprve and expand their businesses. This includes distributing gd practice infrmatin, brkering relatinships with expert service prviders, crdinating peer netwrks, delivering specialist seminars and ther tailred prfessinal develpment pprtunities, and prviding practical resurcing such as the tenant satisfactin survey service. This business area draws a mderate t high level f gvernment funding, and draws n a significant amunt f membership fees, as well as generating incme thrugh fees, spnsrships and ther arrangements. It is the business area which is grwing mst quickly, due t a range f relevant services including the tenant satisfactin survey service, resurcing cntracts with Abriginal cmmunity husing prviders, and prfessinal develpment seminars. The Training Team develps and delivers training, with a fcus n accredited training, primarily the Certificate IV and Diplma in Scial Husing. Sme tailred training is als undertaken thrugh this business area, predminantly curses based n accredited units. The business area is predminantly funded by cntracts with emplyers r individual training participants. The majrity f the wrk undertaken by the Training team relates t rganisatins which are nt members f the Federatin, such as public husing authrities in NSW and interstate. The Office Services Team ensures that the Federatin is resurced and psitined t undertake the rest f its wrk effectively. Its wrk includes internal cmpliance, human resurces, marketing and cmmunicatins activities, as well as engagement with the prpsed natinal industry bdy.
