The University expects a high level f prfessinal cnduct frm staff members, and recgnises its respnsibility t pursue its missin, gals and bjectives, and the need t cnduct its business, in accrdance with prevailing cmmunity and legislated standards f best practice. STATEMENT OF AUTHORITY The authrity behind this plicy is the Charles Darwin University Act 2003 (NT) part 3, sectin 15. INTENT The intent behind this plicy is t prvide the verall framewrk fr management f the University's staff members. RELEVANT DEFINITIONS In the cntext f this dcument: Gverning dcuments means a FORMALLY APPROVED dcument that utlines nn-discretinary gverning principles and intentins, in rder t guide University practice. Gverning dcuments are a frmal statement f intent that mandate principles r standards that apply t the University s gvernance r peratins r t the practice and cnduct f its staff and students they include the CDU Act, by-laws, plicies, prcedures, guidelines, rules, cdes, the Strategic Plan and the Enterprise Agreement; Senir Executive means a staff member hlding the psitin f Vice-Chancellr, Deputy Vice-Chancellr, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Pr Vice-Chancellr r Deputy Chief Operating Officer f the University; Senir Manager means a staff member hlding the psitin f Directr r Head f Schl f the University; Staff member means anyne engaged by r assciated with the University and includes all permanent, casual, adjunct, hnrary r cntracted staff (whether full-time r part-time), vlunteers r thse hlding University ffices r wh are members f a University cmmittee. This will be achieved by: Recruiting, appinting and retaining staff members whse skills and attributes best fit the University s visin, missin and strategic bjectives.
