The position plays an important role in developing and guiding initiatives that align with the organisation s preferred culture and business transformation goals, including organisation and workforce development. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES The following are the key principal accountabilities for the role. These accountabilities may change to reflect changes in the organisational goals and strategic focus. Principal Accountabilities 1. Human Resource and Employment Relations Advice Provide all HR and ER advice to enable Managers and Team Leaders to be effective in their roles. Provide advice and feedback to all staff as required. Work alongside Managers and Team Leaders providing support and advice on all HR functions with particular emphasis on: o recruitment, to attract the right talent for the vacancies; o retention, actions to retain positive and motivated staff contributing to the organisations success; o employment relations, to provide strategies and options for managing investigations, disciplinary hearings and capability issues; o employment legislation, to ensure human resource matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and organisational requirements. This includes providing guidance on when to seek legal advice as and when appropriate; o the performance and development review process, to build strong collaborative work cultures; o coaching managers and team leaders on how to get the people management part right; Be a point of contact for and respond promptly to HR queries and manage expectations. 2. Human Resource information and analytics Ensure that the right HR information is available and accessible for all employees at Tui Ora. Develop reports and provide analysis of HR information/trends for managers; Provide generalist advice to employees with regard to the terms and conditions of their employment; Work closely with the HR team to ensure a consistency of advice and interpretation of policies and procedures Contribute to the development of policies and procedures in collaboration with the HR team; Contribute to the annual remuneration review compensating and retaining high performing employees. 3. Organisation and Workforce Development Contribute fully to organisation development strategies and interventions that are focused on building and developing the culture at Tui Ora Identify opportunities for improvement in the people management practices within the organisation; Work closely with Managers identifying areas for development within their function; Assist in the implementation of the organisational development programmes and change management strategies, processes and interventions; Identify initiatives which foster a high performance culture, where learning, continuous improvement and diversity are the norm; Provide effective change leadership that is focussed on shaping the organisation in a positive way and provide advice on change management opportunities; Lead specific organisation development initiatives; Co-ordinate workforce continuing education programmes as needed, including: program design and development; scheduling; hiring of trainers; program and trainer evaluation; and other duties associated with program delivery. 4. PERSON SPECIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Person Specification Human Resource, Business and/or health administration or other relevant qualification preferred Full, clean NZ Driver Licence. Skill and Experience Role specific: At least eight-ten years HR Advisor experience working within an HR team, and ready to step up to a more senior position; Experience in organisation development particulary around change mangement and developing organisational culture Well-developed written and oral communication skills; A working knowledge of Human Resources Management System (People Inc) is preferred; Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team; Excellent organisation skills and able to take responsibility for completion of tasks; Strong work ethic, demonstration by a high level of integrity, reliability, efficiency and selfmanagement; Fast learner with excellent attention to detail; Able to handle sensitive and confidential information; Able to demonstrate practical understanding of the aspirations and challenges facing Māori communities; Experience in applying Tikanga Māori as it applies in the role is desirable.
