Statement of Need Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the US. Advances in technology and medical resources for treating this deadly disease are advancing at a rapid rate. It is vital for physicians and other healthcare professionals treating cancer patients to continue to increase their knowledge of the latest evidence and quality initiatives and their competency in choosing the best treatment protocols for their patients within the changing healthcare environment. After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to: A. Understand the latest in reimbursement for cancer care with Medicare and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama. B. Improve understanding of personalized cancer care. C. Review issues encountered in implementation of a community wide lung cancer screening Program. Target Audience Primary Care Physicians, Specialty Physicians, Pharmacists, Resident Physicians/Fellows, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Medicine, Oncology, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Radiation Therapists and Medical Dosimetrists and business staff from the state of Alabama. Accreditation CMEs and AMA PRA Category 1 Credits for CEUs AAPC will honor 1-for-1 CEUs for any live event offering CME credit or AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. A certificate of attendance or completion is necessary to show participation. The certificate will give the total CMEs possible for the offering. Physicians are advised to claim only the actual hours that they were present during the education. We ask that AAPC-certified members abide by this request also. One hour of instruction is worth one CEU.
