Page 2 Volume 13 Issue 2 Upcoming Events Military Ball This very formal event places cadets in an environment where they practice their social skills, dining etiquette, and networking abilities. They learn how to plan, organize and manage everything from the invitations to the final dance of the evening. Cadets pass through a receiving line where they introduce themselves and their dates to VIP s such as the Adams 50 Superintendent, Military and local community leaders as well as school administrative staff. A catered meal follows the introduction of the head table allowing cadets to practice dining etiquette. Toasts are given and a moving POW/MIA tribute is given. The live DJ provides music for dancing after the meal and cadets learn they can have fun and act appropriately in a social environment. A King/Queen and their court are selected to preside over the evenings festivities. Male cadets are required to wear the Semi- Formal AFJROTC uniform and all ladies wear evening gowns. Tickets go on sale 13 Jan 2014 and parents are invited to attend. Invitations will be coming home after the Christmas! Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) The ASVAB test administration is scheduled for Monday 6 January 2014 at WHS in room A109. Show time is 8:30 am. Start time is 9:00 am. Recruiters from the different branches of the military volunteer their time to run events and award prizes throughout the day.
