1 SKIING & SNOWBOARDING SKI & SNOWBOARD GENERAL INFORMATION Mount Chinguacousy is your destination for Skiing, Snowboarding and Tubing located in the Donald M. Gordon Chinguacousy Park. Entrance to the Ski Chalet is at the corner of Central Park Drive and Bramalea Road. The Hill is open from late December through March, weather and conditions permitting. Please call in advance for daytime operating hours. *Note: To improve conditions it may be necessary to groom the hill and tube hill during public hours. We are not responsible for lost or stolen equipment. Personal equipment must meet the following standards: snowboards must have a snowboard leash and full metal edge (no plastic snowboards), skis must have a ski brake. Helmets are mandatory in Terrain Park Please adhere to the Alpine Responsibility Code that our Ski Patrol enforces. Anyone wishing to be on skiable/snowboarding terrain, past the spectator area must have equipment and lift ticket on. Walking on the slopes is STRICKLY PROHIBITED. RENTAL PRICING All persons who wish to rent equipment are required to provide a phone number and valid Government issued PHOTO ID and signature on rental agreement waiver. Anyone under 18 years of age will need a parent or guardian to sign a rental agreement waiver and have a parent/guardian provide their Government issued PHOTO ID. If you are unsure of which level in which to register, please contact our office at ext Programs will not be cancelled or refunded due to inclement or less than ideal weather conditions All lesson rates include one additional hour of practice time after the lesson time, unless otherwise indicated. Lesson lift tags must be worn during programs. If a tag is lost a new tag must be purchased for an additional fee of $5.94 REQUIRED EQUIPMENT The following are required equipment for all registered programs. Please note equipment is available for rent at our ski/snowboard shop. Please see ski chalet for rentals pricing at time of registration. Equipment Rental Information Ski and Snowboard equipment is available for rent for an additional fee. Please Note: Rentals must be paid for in full at time of registration. All customers that are renting our equipment must come in for sizing at least one week prior to first day of lessons. Sizing will start at our Open House on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 12:00-3:00 pm and Monday, December 19, 2016 to Friday, December 23, :00-8:30 pm. Your own ski or snowboard helmet is strongly recommended. They are mandatory for all programs. Helmets are available in our rental shop on a first come first serve basis based on proper sizing. Children under 10 years of age must have a parent or guardian 18 years of age or older on site. RENTAL SHOP AND TUNING SERVICES Our full service shop will be available to help you with any equipment needs. Let our certified technicians get you ready for the season and keep your equipment perfectly tuned. We also carry additional ski and snowboard accessories including snowboard leashes, goggles, ski locks and much more. HOURS OF OPERATION Pre-season Monday, December 19 - Friday, December 23 Tuesday, December 27- Friday, December 30 As of December 27 open during Mount Chinguacousy operational hours. 4:00 pm - 8:30 pm SKI AND SNOWBOARD PRIVATE & SMALL GROUP LESSONS Private and small group lessons can be booked online or in person at the ski chalet Chinguacousy Park. Space is limited. Lessons run in all weather conditions. Makeup classes, compensation or rescheduling will not be available due to participant illness, personal commitments or less than ideal weather conditions. Private Lesson $42.76 Small Group Lesson $24.20 Holidays/Family Day Lesson times vary Tuesday to Friday, January 10 - March 10 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm when available Saturday & Sunday, January 14 - March 12 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 5:00 pm when available March Break, March 13 - March 19 Lesson times vary PRICE INCLUDES 1- hour lesson and 1- hour additional time afterwards to practice on your own. GROUP LESSONS Group lesson availability must be confirmed with Snow School office in advance and a deposit payment of 20% made in person at the administration office. Final number of participants and completed rental forms must be provided two weeks in advance to determine staffing requirements. Lesson price includes full set of rentals with a 1- hour group lesson and 1- hour of practice time afterwards on your own. Lesson times are subject to instructor availability. All lesson program bookings consist of a 1-hour lesson, rentals, and practice time. Tubing bookings are available for either 2 or 4 hour timeslots.
