FP 400E Deluge Vlve Dt Description BERMAD FP 400E Deluge Vlves re elstomeric- type gloe vlves tht re rolling-iphrgm ctute, with n integrl, soli, resilient sel. These utomtic wter control vlves re esigne for verticl or horizontl instlltion n re ville in imeter sizes from 1½ to 14 (DN40 to DN350). The BERMAD FP 400E vlves re use for wter flow control in Deluge, Comintion Pressure Control Deluge, Prection or Wter/Fom systems, n re mnufcture from vrious mterils n cotings to suit ll kin of inustril specifictions. The FP 400E Deluge Vlve is hel close y system wter pressure trppe in the control chmer. When the relesing system opertes, pressure is relese from the control chmer, n the sel isc opens to llow wter to flow into the system. The esign of the FP 400E vlve oy inclues single, full ore set with unostructe flow pth, free of ny in-line ris, supporting cge, or shfts. The unique hyro-ynmic gloe esign provies high flow cpilities with minimum he loss. The cover is removle vi four (4) fstening olts (up to 10 ) for quick in-line inspection n servicing. The internl esign of the FP 400E vlve is se on innovtive technology using vnce ruer-se mterils to chieve soli, one-piece, elstomeric ssemly incluing flexile fier reinforce iphrgm, vulcnize with rugge ril sel isk, n together proviing resilient, rip-tight seling. The elstomeric ssemly is crefully lnce n peripherlly supporte to voi tension n protect the elstomer, resulting in long-life, controlle ctution, even uner hrsh conitions. The elstomeric ssemly cn e esily remove from the vlve oy with no nee for isssemling the vlve from the line. FP 400E Instlltion, Opertion & Mintnence Instlltion Proper opertion of the FP 400E Deluge Vlves epens upon their trim eing instlle in ccornce with the pproprite trim configurtion. Notes: Wet pilot height shoul not excee Mximum Elevtion Aove Vlve" (see t for specific moel). Any evition in trim size or rrngement my versely ffect the proper opertion of the eluge vlve. All the pilot system evices, must e UL Liste n comptile with the prticulr eluge system. Refer to current UL Liste Fire Protection Equipment Directory. Wrning: The eluge vlve n trim must e instlle only in res where they will not e suject to freezing tempertures. Instlltion Instructions 1. Allow enough room roun the vlve ssemly for ny justments n future mintennce. 2. Before the vlve is instlle, flush the pipeline to remove ny irt, scle, eris, etc. Not flushing the line my result in the vlve eing renere inoperle. 3. Instll the vlve in the pipeline so tht the vlve flow rrow ppering on the oy csting is pointing in the esire irection. Ensure tht the vlve is positione so tht the cover cn e esily remove for future mintennce. 4. Ensure tht the Control Trim is mounte properly n ll other components re positione correctly s per illustrtion. 5. After instlltion in the min line, crefully inspect/ correct ny mge ccessories, piping, tuing, or fittings. Ensure tht there re no leks. 6. Instll the components comprising the Deluge Trim Pckge in their proper positions in complince with ll instructions, rwings, n technicl specifictions escriing the BERMAD Deluge Vlve, ccoring to the relevnt illustrtion. 7. All itionl ccessories, lthough not pcke together with the BERMAD Deluge Vlve, must e instlle s shown in the relevnt P&ID n other illustrtions. Opertion 6 Principle of Opertion The BERMAD FP 400E Deluge Vlve (ssemle with specific trim) is suitle for systems tht inclue equte etecting n piping systems with open nozzles. The eluge vlve prevents wter from entering system piping until require. The eluge vlve is kept close y pressure pplie to the control chmer through restricte priming line. In the SET position, the wter pressure supplie through the priming line is trppe in the control chmer of the eluge vlve y check vlve, n y the normlly close relese evice. The pressure trppe in the control chmer of the eluge vlve presses the vlve sel isc own, therey seling the vlve n keeping the system piping ry. Uner Test or Fire conitions, when the pressure is relese from the control chmer y the opening of the utomtic relesing evice or y mnul relese, the eluge vlve opens n llows the inlet supply wter to flow through the vlve n into the system piping n lrm evices. Wrning: Whenever the hnle of the Mnul Emergency Relese is pulle, pressure is relese from the control chmer, the eluge vlve will open, n wter will flow into system piping n lrm evices. Electric Pneumtic yrulic Vlve Close (Set Position) Line pressure pplie to the control chmer of the vlve cretes superior force tht moves the vlve to the close position n provies rip tight seling. Electric Pneumtic yrulic Vlve Open (Operting Conitions) Relesing the pressure from the control chmer to tmosphere or some other lower pressure zone cuses the line pressure cting on the sel isc to move the vlve to the open position.
FP 400E Instlltion, Opertion & Mintnence Plcing in Service/Resetting The eluge vlve n the control trim shll e Plce in Service with ccornce to the most recent IOM proceures for the specific moel. After ll relevnt instructions re performe, slowly open the supply-isolting vlve n check tht no wter flows into the system. The system is now opertionl n in stn-y moe. Mintennce Berm Deluge Vlves require no luriction, no pcking tightening, n require minimum mintennce. Removing the System from Service Wrning: When tking eluge system out of service, fire ptrol shoul e estlishe in the system re. If utomtic fire lrm signling equipment is utilize, the proper uthority shoul e notifie tht the system is eing remove from service. The insuring oy n owner s representtive shoul lso e notifie when the system is eing tken out of service. WARNING: Do not turn off the wter supply to mke repirs without plcing roving fire ptrol in the re covere y the system. The ptrol shoul continue until the system is ck in service. Prior to turning off ny vlves or wter supply, notify locl site fire officils. to the site conitions n owner regultions. 4. Remove the cover, clen the vlve oy from seiments, clen the control tuing entry holes, n instll new iphrgm ssemly in plce. Spre Prts 1. The Diphrgm Assemly is the only spre prt neee for the min eluge vlve, see ttche Vlve Disssemly n Prts Brekown Illustrtion. 2. It is not recommene to store spre ruer prts for long perios (ruer in improper storge conitions cn hren n crck). 3. Contct your Berm representtive n orer new ruer prts when require. Removl Instructions 1. Shut off the min supply-isolting vlve. 2. Close the priming line vlve to the eluge vlve control chmer. 3. Open ll rin vlves. 4. Relese the wter pressure from the control chmer of the eluge vlve y pulling the mnul emergency relese. 5. Plce Fire Protection System Out of Service signs in the re protecte y the system.
