4 RA /9.99 Functionl description, section 5-chmer directionl vlves of model 5-.WE re solenoid operted directionl spool vlves. They control the strt, stop nd direction of flow with the dditionl option of djusting the spool switching time. These directionl vlves siclly consist of housing (1), one or two solenoids (2), control spool (3), s well s one or two return springs (4). Two spring chmers re connected y drilling (5). As the spool switches, the flow is displced from one spring chmer to the other vi this pssge. If the re of this connecting ore is reduced y n orifice, the switching time chnges ccordingly. The T chnnels re isolted from the spring chmers. Switching pulses do not ffect control spool (3) nd thus, soft switching of the spool cn e chieved. In the de-energized condition, control spool (3) is held in the centrl or initil position y return springs (4) (except for impulse spools). The control spool (3) is ctuted y wet pin solenoids (2). In order to ensure correct functioning, cre must e tken to ensure tht the pressure chmer of the solenoid is filled with oil. The force of solenoid (2) cts on control spool (3) nd switches it from its rest position to the required end position. This then permits flow from P to A nd B to T or P to B nd A to T. When solenoid (2) is de-energized the control spool (3) is returned to its rest position y return spring (4). A mnul override (6), optionl, enles the control spool (3) to e moved without energiztion of the solenoids. Adjustle spool switching time (only with DC solenoids) The optionl instlltion of throttle screw (7) or orifice (8) - see elow - offers the possiility of incresing switching time with throttle screw model 5-.WE 1../..CG../C.. The ctul time is dependent upon individul system prmeters (e.g. pressure, flow nd viscosity). There is no defined spool position in the deenergized condition. Model 5-.WE 1.3X/OFC... (impulse spool), with detent (only possile with symols A, C nd D) This version is directionl vlve with 2 detented switched positions nd 2 solenoids.
